I have got in touch with several Stand Firm events in Germany. The interesting thing is that many of the Zeitzeugen were not active or at the border of the congregation until they were activated for Stand Firm.
Now they are doing service by traveling through Europe and writing books and are in the focus of their brethren.
In one case where a JW was raised by his mother, after the mother was imprisoned her two sons went to war. Both later became JW again, one committed suicide. The remaining one is used today as a zeitzeuge by the Society telling about his experience as a child. He tells - even to the Society - that his brother died in a traffic accident.
