The article has expressions that remind me of an expression I read somewhere here on the forum:
"Your JW is showing" - And I believe it's true. Like a friend of mine who also got out constantly says when he catches himself showing typical JW attitudes... I guess you can live the organization, but the organization doesn't leave you that easily.
Changing behavior and how you think are some of the hardest things we can do. Not impossible though, we just need to keep learning and growing and, IMHO exposing yourself to different point of views and attitudes with an open and curious mind.

a thought occurred that there is a danger in thinking we know everything, or have it all figured out in life.
especially when it comes to matters of doctrine or faith.. witnesses (or at least the society as a whole) are so self-confident, so proud to be the only ones who know "the truth" about everything to do with the universe, the earth, our past and our future, that pride kicks in.
and pride is dangerous...(.and before a fall).
Maybe they are all subject to the Dunning-Kruger effect... which can be explained like this:
- The less you know, the more you believe you know.
- The more you know, the hardest is it to understand that other people do not know
- The more you know, the best you can assess your level of knowledge or ability.

Really? To me it only "kind" of prove that the origins were not necessarily in Africa... the world is huge though and there are many other parts that could be taken into account. Check out the Bock Saga, similar to the bible but of Finnish origin, they claim humans came from the north!

on 01/09/2016 a jw driving an 18 wheeler trailer full of jw literature dies as a result of an accident.
the trailer departed from guatemala and heading to honduras to drop shipment.
a local elder is interviewed as he arrives on the scene.
In so many aspects Honduras honors its name: "Depths". Not only in this case, but overall it is like they keep getting deeper and deeper in calamities and problems. I am really sorry for the relatives.
