That's insane! I started to read the rest of this article and I also found this gem:

Wait..what?? So Jesus coming down to die for all who believe in him is NOT important?? Whoa whoa... If the sanctification of God's name was more important, then why did Jesus come down in the first place??
so who here sat through the dec 8-14 wt study and didnt want to stand up and shout "what the f--k is wrong with you people?????".

I can't believe the drivel they're coming up with. I also couldn't believe that they actually wrote "In effect, God said:” Be realistic, Baruch. Keep in mind what will soon happen to sinful Judah and Jerusalem. Remain faithful and live! I will protect you.”
When I saw that, I had to look up the study article myself! How do they get away with crap like this??
a friend is being hassled by a body of elders to go to a judicial committee.
i have advised against going but if they go ahead.... the question is are you entitled to have a representative of your own at a judicial committee?.
a second, not quite so urgent, question is: does anyone know where to get a copy of coc in spanish.. thanks.
Either:
1. Tell your friend to definitely bring a friend for "support". Force it on the elders.
2. Repent and cry to avoid disfellowshipping.
3. Not show up.
The WT tries to hold extreme control over people. Not showing up shows that they no longer have a hold on you. Only on the people that shun you.
By the way, I have been searching for MONTHS for COC in spanish, and I have not found it ANYWHERE. I've emailed Commentary Press, and they say they're working on it, but they don't know when it'll be complete.

a sister from my "congregation" has a bible study, and this study had compiled a boatload of questions about russell, the wt history, and incongruencies etc.
and the sister told her that she refuses to answer the questions and that they are apostate teachings.
she told the study that "it isn't up to me to prove the truth to you, you need to prove the truth to yourself".. as another poster put up the topic of "doesn't it blow your mind?
Wow. This just shows how brain-dead JW's are.
If you are offering a life-saving message to people, but you can't prove it and test it, then what's the point?
It's times like these that remind me how weak a faith JW's have. I no longer feel sorry for them.
listening to some of the mp3's of talks from the '70's on freeminds really made me stop and think.. isn't it scary that decade after decade the jws continue to believe this b.s.?.
i mean the talks i heard were so similar to the same manipulation through fear used by c.o.

It does blow your mind. I think back on all the "old-timers" that I saw grow up and grow old in my old congregation, and I wonder to myself, "Man, am I glad I got out!"
all society publications from 1950 -1968 pictures showed jesus as a jew who had short hair and was clean shaven???.
watch 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower books now show jesus with short hair and no beard?....because he is shown that way in representations of him that are older than the traditional effeminate looking pictures.".
watch 1968 p.286 "bible evidence and a recent review shows that jesus did have a beard.
I gotta say: I had heard about the WT removing Jesus' beard but I never bothered looking up the pictures. Now that I've seen them... OMG they're terrible! Jesus looks effeminate! Why would God's Channel to Earth get this wrong? LOL...

It doesn't make sense, no matter how hard they try to justify or explain that stupid date. None of their prophecies have been fulfilled since 1914 (or prior to that date) and NONE will be fulfilled.
The current GB needs to face the fact that they've inherited a very ludicrous religion.
will they ever announce that the world wide preaching work is finished?.
will they fill that gap with something else, like "new system" lessons?.

par 4 - subheading "jehovah trusts the slave".
after quoting ps32:8 (ot)"i shall certainly make you have insight..", the paragraph claims that jehovah provides direction to the slave, stating "we can therefore have full confidence in the scriptural insight, understanding and guidance that we receive from the slave.".
I've also noticed that they've been plugging that Matt 24:45 scripture into almost every magazine this year. I don't know if they feel like they're losing control or what. I wish there were another Franz incident so we could find out what the GB has been thinking lately.
Without the "faithful slave" doctrine, I can't see them maintaining control. To Witnesses, Jehovah has allowed Jesus to have some control, and Jesus gives instructions to the "faithful slave". It would be foreign for Witnesses to get to know Christ personally.
