Sir82, on what day did they talk about the false prophecies (1975, etc.)?

District Convention ruminations
by sir82 inif y'all can stand one more dc thread, i thought i'd post some miscellaneous rumbling ramblings about this year's edition.. to protect my privacy, i'd prefer not to disclose the location - pm me if interested.. ***** attendance, as in all other years i can remember, was much lower on friday than the other days.
in fact, the attendance was 22% lower on friday than on sunday.
so, as usual, they hammered home the point about the importance of attending all 3 days....on friday!

Name Things JWs Believe That Are Not Actually Biblically Provable
by minimus inhere's one example: being a congregation publisher.
nowhere in the bible does it say you should be a "publisher" and turn in your time if you preach.
they try to twist the scriptures by saying that numbers are constantly being recorded in the bible so then conforming to the rules of being a publisher is from the scriptures.. yeah, right..

Also, I'm not sure if anybody's mentioned this (I didn't read every single post of the 7 pages), but another thing JW's believe (that can't be proven) is that Samuel's soul was NOT raised from the dead by the spiritist and that it was a demon impersonating him instead.

Are you ready for the finish line? talk
by Motema Bolingo ini know that this point was discussed a few months ago.. my question is rather urgent - hope you are able to give me an answer.. i put the talk of samuel herd on my website.. now, somebody writes me and say that the talk was not delivered by herd, but by a circuit overseer named ellwood johson.. ( the way he says this seems to suggest that my site is not quite reliable .. was this talk given or not by s. herd ?.
thank you in advance for your help.
jacques.

It's my impression that it is Samuel Herd, but I'm only going off of what everybody else was saying. It sure sounds like him..

..."You Know It`s the Truth!!"...
by OUTLAW in...................."you know it`s the truth!!
"..........................how many times have you heard that?............jehovah`s witness you know..know you don`t go to meetings, assemblys or anything else wbt$ related......still they feel the need to tell you "you know it`s the truth!.........................you tell them, you don`t..they insist that you do!
!..you continue to tell them you don`t..............they get pissed and tell you:"deep inside you know it`s really the truth!!

It's very frustrating, I know, we ALL know..
The funny thing is.. well what is exactly is this "truth" that is supposedly true? Once you ask them this, they start elaborating on a bunch of supposedly "true" things that the Borg has taught them. But Jesus only spoke of one truth that would set people free..

Five beneficial reasons why not knowing the day or hour can help us - another recording from the DC
by insearchoftruth indid not capture anything but the overarching topics here....but more on the end...... .
five beneficial reasons why not knowing the day or hour can help us.. .
listened to another section of auntbees recording, here are the five points the speaker makes why it is good we dont know......the focus sure seems to be on distancing themselves from the missed dates, while still stirring up a lot of fear and concern about being at the end of the end.

This isn't new, they've been saying this for several years now. Its common for JWs to say "Even if Armaggedon (or the great tribulation) doesn't occur during my lifetime, at least I would've died faithful."
Exactly, it's all about belonging to the "true" religion. Instead of setting dates, they're going to focus even more on staying "separate from the world". I feel this is something the younger crowd could care less about. Without setting dates, the urgency is not there to quickly join and make sure to be inside the "ark of salvation". Sure, there's going to be pressure for young ones from parents and relatives to get baptized and seek higher positions within the congregation, but it's not likely to happen too often.

Blood and Acts question
by Wicaugen inokay, so, i dunno if this has been brought up before, it probably has, but i have an in depth question.. acts 15:20-21 - but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood.
for from anchient times moses has had in city after city those who preach him, because he is read aloud in the synagogues on every sabbath.. okay.
here's my question.

It meant to abstain, as in abstain from eating blood. Back then, the Gentiles were becoming Christians and they were eating food that contained blood, and this was offensive to the Christian Jews. So that's why they decreed that the Gentile Christians should abstain from eating blood, so they wouldn't offend the Jewish Christians. It was all for keeping the peace, that's it.

Will the "sheeples" be assimilated into the anointed Borg?
by 1914BS inin the early days, the appearance of the other sheeples (great multitude/crowd) was a real problem because the total number of anointed & sheeples were exceeding 144,000 so rutherford invented the idea of the great crowd which would make it possible to exceed the 144,000 limit.
nowadays, the exact same dilema is happening agian.
the sheeples are being kicked to the curb after so many years of being called the "generation".

Doubt it, unless they get "new light" revealing that Jesus did die for all JW's and not just 144,000. It doesn't seem necessary to make that change, since all the "sheeple" and the "anointed" follow the GB's direction either way.
Heaven forbid they would start listening to the real Master, Jesus Christ. At that point, they would cease being a Jehovah's Witness and become a Christian.

Just wait until people get tired of all religion.
I definitely agree, WTWizard. Although, it would take a LOT of power to take them all down..
Left alone, however, the Internet should be able to expose the Washtowel Slaveholdery. Hopefully, it will make the parent organization go belly up in due time.
I believe the Internet has caused a significant blow to the WTS, and it may be behind the current stagnation it is suffering. Why else are the kids leaving in droves, and despite them preaching billions of hours every year, can they still only get less than 300,000 people baptized each year?

How sad. Look what's under the "Prophecies" section: The Revelation book. That's it? That's all they got? Oh wait, all of their other prophecies failed! False prophets!
I find it very disturbing that the text behind the couple reads "The Bible: The Best Read" and then there's TONS of OTHER books besides Bibles. That should be a sign for any on-looker to just keep on walking..
