Isn't this the same story used by GB Anthony Morris in a talk in 2007? It was a borrowed story from elsewhere.

Putting aside all of their incorrect beliefs and false prophecies, in order for Jehovah's Witnesses to be God's people, you would have to prove that Jesus established a "faithful and discreet slave" class of people in 33 A.D. to distribute "food at the proper time". Then you would have to prove that there was a vast apostasy that caused this slave class to hide underground for 1800 years until Russell appeared on the scene. There's a chain of invisible links that just doesn't exist. We were all deceived into thinking all of the above happened, when it never did. Therefore, they were never God's people.

Christ presence started in 1914: Acknowledge since 1925?
by Nick! inchrist presence started in 1914: acknowledged since 1925?.
according to the second wt article in the march 15th edition of this year, paragraph 4 states that (translation) jehovahs witnesses recognize since 1925 that the first world war and the events which followed, constitute a clear evidence that christ presence in his heavenly kingdom started in 1914.. could someone kindly scan the english version of the above article and post-it online?.
it is the first time, at least personally, that i read such a statement in a wt literature.. according to the book captive of a concept by don cameron, chapter 3 page 22-23, the first time the wt recognized that christs presence happened in 1914, was only in 1943.. how is it possible that this article of 2009 points to the year 1925 as the time when the jw first recognized the true event associated with 1914?.

To add to the confusion, JW's also now teach that they had the foresight to predict "the end of the Gentile Times in 1914" 40 years in advance. But to be clear, Russell taught that the "end of the Gentile Times" was supposed to be the end of the world. This is something they don't come out and tell you clearly.

Just in case you missed it -- great comment by "easyreader" from another thread
by Alpaca inon metatron's thread about dubs going mainstream easyreader said this:.
another issue causing the decay is the lack of a "date".
in order for a cult to work, there has to be a date where everything will culminate.

Seems to me:
-If they want to maintain any credibility whatsoever to the world, they will need to reform their disfellowshipping policy and the blood doctrine. Other countries may start to take action against them for causing such disruption in normal, family relations.
-They can set one more date, but the end must come or otherwise NO ONE will pay attention to them anymore. This would be the final straw for them. It may surge a more fantastic growth spurt, but will also be their ultimate downfall.
-They could also declare that the preaching work is complete, and move all JW's to one big compound to await the Big A. They could learn to sustain themselves without much interaction with the world in general (grow their own crops/have a big farm). This would also keep them united with not much dissension.

After hearing about Big Love, I thought it would be great to see something about JW's on HBO. It would definitely be interesting to see someone rise above the R/F, achieve a high position in Bethel, and then realize that it was all a fraud. Then they could show what kind of effects this can have on a person. Basically, the Ray Franz story.

Whenever I was talking to some Mormons, I asked them if the American Indians ever claimed to be descendants of the Hebrews. They stated, "No..." and looked sort of dumbfounded. I had been given a copy of the BOM and we could barely get past the Introduction page because I had so many questions. Needless to say, they've stopped coming by...
Do they still teach that black people are cursed? Or that God was really a man who became God? Were these teachings even in the BOM?
