Pampering the CO was something I never felt was right. These people were the same as anybody else (we all put our pants on one leg at a time), and it disgusted me everytime they visited. Sure, I attended the KH and made sure to listen when he talked. But it was never anything new. I guess this was just one more nail in the coffin for me leaving. I can truly say I hated the way they treated these people, as if they had just come down from Mt Sinai.

Unloaded on the husband of my wife's study sister last night, how much damage did I do to myself??

well had a really good weekend away from home, but i guess i knew that the respite from the wts would end.

tuesdays are the day my wife has her personal bible study with the sister and she has also had the husband come over on tuesday afternoons so the son can have the pleasure of a bible study (which he loathes, he is a high school junior and has no interest in this stuff).

i get home from work late, after a fairly long day and the guy is still there.

I think you handled yourself very well. I'm impressed to see that he didn't run away but instead stood there and listened. Of course, his JW training kicked in and he started spouting erratic answers, but deep down you've placed the seed of doubt. Now it's a matter of time to see if it grows or not. I agree with other posters here that the JW's are very cunning in telling people that they will receive opposition from their family members if they study with JW's. This is exactly where they might want to corner your wife. I hope your wife can see through this facade,because if not she could be hard to convince otherwise.

I'm not surprised he was caught off guard about 1919. Although JW's read about it every now and then in the magazines, it's not stressed to them how important that date is. In fact, I doubt very few JW's ever stop and think just how important that date really is. It hinges on whether they should remain JW's or not. I personally held that date with high esteem until I found out it was all a fraud.

How sad. The Witlesses had been attending the Book Study night their entire lives, and the WT treats them like they've completely forgotten what to do with their time. Of course the Witlesses know how and when to study the Bible WT literature... they just don't want to. Cancelling the Book Study was just another jenga brick pulled out before the whole thing topples over.

reports have been heard that brother price has been getting his 10 hours of field circus in for awhile, allowing him to get the privilege to carry the mics at the kingdumb hall.

the 1st time he was handed the microphone (with the stick attached (we all know what ones i am talking about)) he started thrusting it in a very innapropiate way (pornia).

this caused the elders to end the meeting right there and form a judicial hearing.

Feb 15, 1927, QFR - States that the "generation" mentioned at Matthew 24:34 are the "new creation" (the anointed). There will still be anointed on earth when the end comes.

Various 50's and 60's WT's and Asleep! articles detail that the "generation" are the peoples who witnessed the events of 1914. No symbolic meaning implied at all.

Nov 1, 1995 - Unlinked the "generation" from 1914. The "generation" now meant the wicked people on earth who failed to mend their ways and become JW's. This contradicts an article in 1962 that explicitly stated that the "generation" could not possibly mean only wicked people.

Feb 15, 2008 - The "generation" now means the same thing that it meant in 1927. This teaching contradicts the same 1962 article mentioned above. In 1962 it was stated that the "generation" could not mean the "anointed" exclusively.

If the WBT$ goes,does "Jehovah" cease to exist?

this is prompted by a statement made on another thread,that god would still exist even if the borg didn't.. it seems to me that the god of the watchtower only exists within their organization,so their "jehovah" goes down with them,and i say the sooner the better.. my reason for mentioning this is because many times when i was an active witless i had to say to other dubs "i do not worship the same god as you" when they had come out with total bs about armageddon etc.

which was not supported by scripture.. eventually it dawned on my poor slow brain that indeed,i did not worship the god of the wt,so i left.. i think though it is usefull to keep this thought in mind when talking to dubs,and use expressions like "your god does this,or will do ,that...".

they will then perhaps feel the isolation from the true god which is their existence.. love.

civicsi-I had a very similar conversation with my mom and she shunned me for months. Because I was so hateful(?) to tell her that her religious teachings had changed. Sigh. Good luck with the rest of that conversation.

Thanks. I'm letting it slide for now, but the next time I see her I hope to bring it up again.

Funny how questioning their beliefs is considered persecution, as if you're torturing them or depriving them of something. Instead it's the WT that deprives them of the real truth..
