JAN! THANKS!! You present things very very well! It is so easy to see what a farce this religion is.

Missing the Target for 125 Years!
by JanH inmissing the target for 125 years .
the organization that more than 5 million jehovah's witnesses believe to be "god's channel" of communication to mankind, is strangely also the organization with a monumental record of failed predictions.
after examining dozens of watch tower society (wts) predictions we failed to find a single one that was right.

jw marriages age differences
by invisible inof 3 that straightaway spring to mind:.
dg (m) 64 e (f) 27. bm (m) 49 d (f) 18. pl (m) 43 e (f) 18.
2 of the above were also 'arranged' marriages, do you know of any other instances of extremes in jw marriage age ranges?

My wifes Mother "encouraged" My wife hanging out with a man 10+ years older than her when she was 13 years old. The guy never tried anything but was abviously trying to lay the groundwork for possible marriage. My wifes mother was angry when my wife decided she didn't want to hang out with this guy anymore. Currently we have a JW family Member who is condoning her 15 year old duaghter to see a 26 year old JW man from the congregation. This girl, at 15 is built like a 21 year old. Her momo is trying to bring the boyfriend around at family gatherings and such. Myself and A non JW cousin told her if she brought him around us we would have to "take him for a walk". This is pedophilia plain and simple. I can't understand how someone could condone it. I have heard many stories of the same type of "Arrangements" though. Coincidentally, the 15 yewar old now wants to get baptised. SICK!

Have you partaken?
by writerpen inthis sunday will be my first partaking of the bread and wine at communion.
almost a year after having come away from the dubs and i'm just now feeling "safe" to partake.
so for those of you who have experienced this already, what do i do if i drop the bread on the floor by accident?

LOL, if you drop it you simply ask for another one. This is simply a symbolic thing, yes the wafer is blessed, but I think the Preist would understand if you picked it up and asked for another. Being a catholic for many years in my younger days, and taking many communions I think it would be very difficult to drop the wafer. I never did.

Mom - Why do you treat me like the damned!
by zenpunk innot that my mom would ever visit this site - but i have to just vent.
last night my mom promised she would meet me at home to help me move some furniture.
she made it seem like it was a tremendous deal and the only reason why she would be by would be because she had something else to do in the neighbourhood.

Wow, it's crazy how many lives this religion ruins. My wife has been DF'd for 10 yrs or so. here Parents are the same way. We have had many problems because of this. My wifes mother came to see my son when he was born and after seeing the way she treated my wife, I told her I would never watch it again. I told her I couldn't come between her and my wife but I could stop her fromm seeing my kids. I asked her to try to be just a grandma and mother and not a spiritual guide to my wife and son. Obviously she didn't like it because she rarely calls. When my duaghter was born(her only granddaughter) she wanted to come out again, somehow she jusstified to herself that it would be ok to stay at our house. I told my wife hell no. She will never see my kids in this manner. My wife was not happy but understood. Her mother has attempted a few times to see the kids(luckily she lives 3000 miles away so it doesn't happen often). My wife finally told her not too long ago, that unless she could forget about the DF and put religion aside we wanted nothing to do with her. Her mother replied "their just going to die in the end anyway so whats the point in trying" true JW ways, turn you back, run and hide. It makes me sick.

demonized child
by finnrot ini was raised a witness, and i was always told that demons were everywhere.
i was told that if you let your mind open to "wrong" thinking that demons will invade you and take over.
and just about anything could get you demonized.

You guys want scary, go find and read "The Demonologist" by Ed and Lorraine Warren. This is true documented stories of real hauntings. Ed is the only demonologist in the world recognized by the catholic church. No he's not a catholic. I don't know if I believe in the Whole Ghosts and Demons thing or not but this book scared the hell out of me if you can read it by yourself late at night you have bigger cajones than I do.

My wife(df'd JW) is horrified of demons etc. SheStill swears on her life that when she was a girl there were demons all around her. She said they would sit on her bed and tell her if she moved that they would kill her parents/family. She does not watch any scary movies and is horrified of anything with witches. SHE HASN'T EVEN SEEN THE WIZARD OF OZ????!! WTF?? ANyhow I think her parents put shit in her head and caused these delusions. No matter what I try to tell her she wholeheartedly believs she wa shuanted by these demons for the years they lived in a certain house. I just can't fathome being so frightend by a bunch of morons.

GOD MY SPELLING SUCKS!!!!!!!
BTW something I forgot to add to the last post. Having a great relationship with your kids IS somehting to be proud of. ROYBATTY, sounds like you have a good thing going.
I agree, every kid is different. I too, am very happy with my relationshipwith my kids. My sons birthday was yesterday(he turned 3) and I counted 5 times through the day that he said "thank you daddy for my party" or Thank you daddy for all my presents". And it wasn't the obligatory thank you, they were honest thank you's. Stuff like that makes me proud to be a dad!!

Good Topic Moe!
I have 2 children on is my 3 yr old boy who is about as perfect as they come.Although he has his days. I find that consistency is key. I think he is a tiny bit on the spoiled side but mostly he is very well behaved. Usually if he gets out of line I can count to 3 an by 2 he is back on track. If he decides not to listen then he gets a timeout 99,9% of the time that'll do the trick. The knock out blow for him is to take away his DVD's or his Friday night pony rides. He has been a very good boy since we brouth him home.
My daughter...oh My beautiful little Daughter. She is 8 months old and I am truely frightened. She is the exact opposite of my son. She already yells at us if she doesn't get he way, She can throw temper tantrums with the best of them, all in all she is a little princess. I have no idea how we are going to handle her but it's going to be a ride. I can tell already she's going to be very rebellious and going to need a lot of "guidance".
Spanking....Before I had kids I always said I wouldn't spank...BWHAHAHAH was I an idiot. We don't do it often, but someties it is waranted lets say for example if my son decides to wrestle with his sister and lays across her belly. Anything dangerous we will slap a hand Liek if he's sticking a fork in the wall socket or something. Honestly I can't remember the last time I spanked him. Ther are much more effective ways to hanlde things.

Your View On Capital Punishment
by Dutchie inwe all know the bible's view on capital punishment.
in fact, in the 1969 edition of aid to bible understanding, the author notes the following: .
"the value of life is considered so sacred by god that the blood of a murdered person is viewed by him as defiling the earth and such defilement can be cleansed only by shedding the blood of the murdered.

I believe in it wholeheartedly. Even though our judicial system sucks there needs to be some real consequences. I think anyone convicted by dna evidence should die period. If no DNA then Life.
