  just put together a little document comparing the watchtower's misquotes from page 7 of their trinity book.

  i have been reading much of the ante nicene fathers lately and the more i read them it amazes me that the society would even mention them to refute the trinity.

  by reading the writings from these early church fathers we can truly see that they belived the core doctines that mainstream christians follow today (for the most part).

  22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two maidservants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak."
  But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me."

  27 The man asked him, "What is your name?"
  "Jacob," he answered.

  28 Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, [e] because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."

  29 Jacob said, "Please tell me your name."
  But he replied, "Why do you ask my name?" Then he blessed him there.

  30 So Jacob called the place Peniel, [f] saying, "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."

  From my studies on this passage the "angel" was Jesus pre-incarnate (angel of the lord), hence Jacob naming the place Penial. We know from scripture that "no one can see God (in this life-seeing the father) and live so the "God" that Jacob saw was Jesus.

  i've spent the last 2 months listening to talks of former and current jw's, reading, using the wt cd, going through my collection of watchtowers from 1879-1947 (which i do have on .pdf if anyone is interested) and books i've managed to not lose in many moves since 1964.. is there a .pdf of the 1969 the kingdominterlineartranslationofthegreekscriptures anywhere?

  i got one as a gift in 1969 when was a little girl and after going through many boxes of publications i can't find mine.

  i need it to collaberate some things i have heard and unless i can read it for myself i can't take someone else's "saying" that the kit says something.

  iloowy, I hate to sound harsh here but IMHO you should get out of your box a little. As a Christian myself I find your words rather sad. Like it was posted earlier, if the show was billed as Christian then you "might" have a case. Too many Christians are looking to get offended at so many things. We are in a dying world and need to be more tolerant of people that we're trying to reach. If we go around pissing everyone off because of our intolerance how are we going to reach anyone?
  
  We don't have to agree with people's lifestyles but we can still be a compassionate person to even those that may appose us. I know I'm not breaking any new ground here, just a reinforcement. In times of trouble you just never know who may confide in you for help, IF you have shown patience and love.
  
  Censorship is good but discipleship is better.
