Why don't we show a graph that shows how many of the members of this site are Americans?

it seems the people being screwed the most are also the most visciferous defenders of the status quo which sees them being severely disadvantaged.. maternity leave?

I had a math Professor last year who taught me a great lesson. She gave us an example of a graph that showed some fact or other (I forget what it was on because the important part was what came next) that suppossedly proved or disproved some point. The point was that by manipulating the way the graph was layed out you could change the view that others had of the information it contained. To paraphrase she warned us not to be taken in by fancy graphs because they could easily be made to say bullshit that didn't exist.

The idea that hard work is rewarded is a fallacy.
Sir, you have taken leave of your senses because this is the stupidest thing I have read on this board in 5 years. This single statement makes Larsinger's posts read like the very best of Shakespeare.
A man who is willing to work hard, will always have a job.
Amen

The antidote to the myth that JWs are declining
by slimboyfat inone of the most persistent myths on this website is that jws are already in decline, the rot has set in, and the descent of the watchtower is inevitable from here on in.
unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.

What I see is a demographic shift that may explain at least the growth in the US. This is the explosion of Spanish speaking congregations. I've seen them pop up not only in areas where they traditionally have been already but in Oklahoma as well.
In my opinion, white JW's are either declining or at best are completely stagnant.

Howdy From Texas
by TexasEX inmy name may be a bit premature...because i'm actually still active within the org, but i guess you could say i've already "left" in my heart.
i'm just scared to take the first steps, because i don't know any "ex's" in my neck of the woods, and i'm very scared of loosing my family.
i just need someone to talk to.. .

Hubby found out about me celebrating my kids birthday...
by cognac intold on me of course.
apparently, the other jw thought he was kidding.. i just said, you tell on me and take my family from me, we are done.
we will get a divorce and you will lose me, your home, and more then likely won't get to see your kids everyday the way you get to now.
