  Courting couples in the JW having sex together before marriage?

  i left about 8 years ago, at the grand old age of 24, basically being an unmarried mum of 1 (baptised when my girl was 11months old) and the 'tipping point for me' when elder sisters tried to set me up for marriage to a 64year old elder, as that would be the only man willing to marry a girl such as myself.

  i ran away, i moved 300miles away.

  there should be a witness pretection programme ;).

  No sex before the wedding night? I was the only one. Never again.

  An exit from the borg and a divorce later, I would run away from any woman for whom sex is anything else than a natural, fun, thing that can be enjoyed as long as there is love, respect and responsibility.

  this news story about the latest move in china's preperations for the olympic games is just nuts.

  i avoid buying products made in china whenever possible (almost impossible).

  The first article about stray cats in Beijing is as found in the news.

  This current cat scare reminds me of the bird scare of decades ago. Even schoolchildren were encouraged to take part in the hunt, armed with sticks. Birds ate seeds, imperiled harvest yields, and had therefore to be eliminated.

  Do I need to add what happened the next year?

  Human strays threaten to take over Beijing

  The capital is facing an uncontrollable increase in the number of human inhabitants.

  A recent survey by a non-profit group showed more of those humans have been found downtown.

  By the end of last year, about 400,000 humans were found wandering around Beijing's residential areas, in parks or university campuses.

  "Chinese humans have an amazing ability to reproduce. If left unattended, a pair of Chinese man and woman can produce hundreds of thousands of babies, or even a million, within seven or eight years," Beijing Human and Animal Environmental Protection Center head Zhang Luping said.

  Feline inhabitants have expressed concern.

  Jesus was a false prophet....

  i posted this on another thread, but if you read matthew 24, we see that jesus was indeed a false prophet... he doesn't give the day or hour of the end times but he says that this generation will not pass away until all these things occur... and what generation was he talking about?

  he was talking to his diciples and telling them you will see this and that and thus and such....especially take a gander at matt 24: 33-36...jesus thought he was living in the last days and that he would come down from a cloud from the heavens...that stars would fall from the sky, and the like... just read it and tell me what you think.

  i wonder if jesus was an essene, they thought they were living in the end of time, in fact they predicted a messiah would come during their days... .

  While most people have heard of them, the JWs are really quite insignificant overall.

  For your info, there exist people outside the US/Canada. Most of them haven't heard of JWs at all

  My first panic attack

  guess where my first panic attack occurred?

  at the kindom hall of course.

  i was 14yrs old and thought i was being "possessed by a demon".. panic attacks became more common, and at the age of 18 i was diagnosed with "panic disorder with depression".

  Panic disorders often respond well to a treatment with tricyclic antidepressants (amitryptiline...). These drugs may seem old-fashioned today, as more recent antidepressants are better tolerated, but they don't act the same way -panic is not the same as a depression. Tricyclics should be taken daily for months. They may help the patient deal with panic attacks as they arise, which is the conducive to remission.

  Benzodiazepines may have their use to calm down an attack, but don't help overcome the disorder. I don't see the benefit of taking them on a daily basis.

  we all know how every congregation has that elders wife who takes it upon herself to be the hall's resident doctor quinn: medicine woman.

  they are constantly pushing herbal supplements and natural medicines at the very least, and at times even getting a little "spiritistic" with some of the crazier quack devices out there.

  do i think they're stupid?

  To be a good JW, you need to

  • believe big claims without asking yourself too many questions
  • look at science with suspicion
  • hold that the natural is divine, and the human evil
  • depend on an authority

  Thus equiped, you're fair game

  i am young, but i feel it would be nice to finally have a close friend and if i turn out to love and want to commit then even better.

  the regular dating sites don't do it.

  There isn't yet any JW, at least that I would know of, among the 11 million inhabitants of my city. Once there will be one, it's going to take at least 6 more months before I have a fellow ex-JW. And will it be female?

  Dating an ex-JW would be nice, but we are scattered indeed
