Since i was raised as a JW i have NEVER missed the memorial.
Now since i have been DF'd i"m not sure whether i will go or not. My wife is still a JW. Should i go for her sake or not?
( Haven't been to a meeting since being DF'd 3 mths ago )

In the end you have to take their word for it. They will use a bunch of scriptures "proving" prophesys that have come true.
They are fulfilling Mat 24:14.
They are also fulfilling Mat 24:11,24.
Look into their History from beginning until now. You will see a trend. The "Truth" changes and gets updated regularly.

Did any of you ex JW's lead a double life? Any good stories?
by isnrblog ini did when i was a teenager.
i was a good little witness on the outside but a pot smoking, girl chasing, booze swilling....normal teenager.. funny story.
i was 17 and this elders wife started a study with a lady in our neighborhood.

How the F*#k can i compete with that! I agree with dawg.
My double life was Smoking with a "worldly" friend at 12yrs of age up in a treehouse in his backyard. Right at that moment, we could see the witnesses walking past the road. My Dad was ( Still is an Elder ) and Mum was/is a religious fanatic. I would have been hangin' by my nuts if i was caught!
As i got older it was more drinking and nightclubbing. Me and my mates were a tight group of surfers and what happened with us, stayed in the group. As mates we always backed each other. Girls, drinking, pot, beach camps etc.
These memories are my fondest.
Have one regret. When i was in high school i was asked out by a hot and horny girl and i said no.( I was going through a spiritual stage!)
Damn. Wish i could go back to that day.

So instead of living in the moment, the witnesses project themselves into the future and then imagine themselves looking back to the past.
That's enough to screw with anybodys mind!
In my experience, they live in the past and the future, but not in the present. A fertile ground for mental illness.

Persecution in Australia
by freedomfighter inthe last convention i attended was ( apart from boring ), very much themed around fear.
in more than a few talks, it was suggested for us brothers in aust.
to expect things to get tough and not to think because we live on a big island, that we won't be persecuted.. these comments and suggestions usually got a slight gasp from the audience.

These comments and suggestions usually got a slight gasp from the audience. Also a bit of chit chat during the lunch break.
Looking back, i now wonder WHY they said what they did. My personal view is that because of child abuse allegations in The USA and other countries; this issue would "raise it's ugly head" over here. Point is, they don't know how to deal with this problem.
Will add too, that the use of the word "Persecution" would stir up the brothers and bring Armaggedon closer to them in their own minds.
e.g " Wow! Things are getting serious, we better pick up our act before the end of this system."

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
Having just recently leaving the JW's i have many adjustments to make with my thinking. Yes, i have a brain that i may use now!
At this time ALL organised religion is repulsive to me. It puts humans in a position of power which is usually abused.
