  My son's rarely did, and it didn't bother me one bit. If somethings going to happen, it's going to happen. Kids will always find a way to hormone out, get it? Trouble is that these young people are under so much presure to find a mate and continue to propagate the species, dubs. Kids getting married at 16, 17,what's with that???? Give em some time to make bigger choices in life than having to bend to that mind set of finding a nice theocratic mate.

  if there was a police investigation going on in a congregation for child abuse and at least three elders knew about that , would they inform all the other elders what was going on ?

  i tried to discuss the matter with an elder concerning my child that had been abused , and he said to me i dont know what you are talking about and dont want to know !

  after the court case had finished i complained about his attitutude to me and how it had upset me and was told by an elder that the other elder really did not know what i was talking about as only 2 or 3 elders deal with such things .

  i am sure this has probably been covered before, but for those who haven't come in contact with it, this website is a great tool when dealing with how to explain and debate from the bible what is wrong with what the watchtower teaches.. http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/.

  " -- genesis 1:26-27. what a second here, god said, let us, make man in our image, male and female he created them.

  i'm going to date myself on this and i suppose many of you will also.

  it never ceases to amze me on the stand the wts will take on the latest fads or styles.

  when chubby checker came out with the twist the wts had to come out and do their thing.

When Chubby Checker came out with the Twist the wts had to come out and do their thing. TOO SUGGESTIVE THEY SAID. HMMMMM, compared to what we see today on regular TV, the twist was rated G.I liked to TWIST, was good exercise even for a kid.LOL

  How about the fifteen cent hamburger? According to the local dubs,"being so inexpensive it must have BLOOD in it. I was about 11 when they came to our area, I ate them anyways.

  DISCO!!! OMG, don't do THAT! Donna Summers, John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever, NO NO NO.

  Smurfs. Give me a break! Demons, yada yada yada.

  School Dances. Absolutely NOT. Bad associations spoil useful habits. Right. I had alot of Bad Associations at the hall.

  School Sports. Alot of good talent was never developed.Wasted.

  COLLEGE. You won't need that higher learning, the new system is right around the corner. Pioneer, do the lord's work, you'll have your reward one hundred fold. And now , what kind of living are you making? What skills do you have now? Career advancement?

  Class reunions. OH, don't go there. You might regenerate those old feelings you had for someone of the opposite sex.

  I hope I brought back some memories for you all. That was my intent of course. I hope not all of you had bad memories of this, some did, I for one. But, even then , I was a rebel. I did all of it with the exceptionof college. my parents couldn't afford it. However, my sister carried a 4.0 average, graduated second in her class. She could have had a scholarship to many schools. But, alas, she pioneered and married a loser dub. After 35 years of marriage, she's just a secretary and he won't keep a job. Both still very righteous dubs.

  have only been out of the organisation for 2 months and the wounds still run deep.

  particularly hard is the fact that my wife and 8 yr old son are now divided in our beliefs.

  we cannot go out as a family with our old friends like we use to.

  Smoking is not grounds for divorce. From your previous post that seems to be why you were df'd. For the depression, see a doctor. There are alot of anti-depressants you can take that aren't addictive nor mind altering. Hey, they kicked you out, you seemed to them to be rpentant and they did it anyways. Since you are df'd, you no longer answer to them. They made the choice, make them be accountable. Now is a great time to excercise your free mind and learn what they are REALLY about. Oh, and you do have license to do what ever YOUR conciense allows you.

  i was actually on this site when the doorbell rang.

  i walked to the door and it's a nicely dressed black guy (single witness) and since the wife and kids are there i step outside.. he starts in with "do you think the world will get better.".

  Welcome 1mother, and stick around awhile, you WILL learn many things here. And,no,we aren't all disassociated or df'd here. There are many active and non active jws here. Also many at bethel on line here.We just don't buy into the company line any longer.

  i was at the front desk (can't tell you what i do, as i'm a fader).

  i get a call from a company that works closely with us.

  the lady says: "i have a client here that needs an_____, but he wants a jehovah's witness.".
