  I have come to terms with my own mortallity and I now have inner peace. No shame, no albatross around my throat, and no more guilt. I am who I am, nothing more nothing less. I no longer need anyone or anything to make me over into something that I am not, and will not be. When I pass on, I hope to leave behind me many memories for my family and friends to cherish of me. Not for the bad I did while in ther midst, but for the good that I accomplished for them while they had me here.

  Concrete Reasons for Being a JW (or member of any religion)

  here is a question i've been wanting to ask hubby: "why do you want to be a jw?

  " and i don't want ethereal answers like "they have the truth" "everlasting life" and other such nonsensical ramblings.

  i am not a member of any organized religion and i don't see the appeal.. can anyone answer the question with a concrete reason?.

  Let the truth be known, if you consider all the crap that jw's have gotten df'd for, jw's are no better than "wordly people". I don't miss my jw friends for a minute. Most of them were phony with the exception of a couple that are trapped and don't know it yet. The saying is true, "the world has so much to offer". So, hey! take advantage of it to the full.   Whats the weirdest case that was handled in your congro??

  we had one were a guy screwed his dog.. a guy got his step daughter pregnant and ran off with her, his wife committed sue-aside , in our country you can't marry your step children if you are the course of the brake up however apparently its not against scriptural law so the congregation gave them a marriage.. we had 4 sisters pregnant in the congro (all married) this bro of questionable mental health confessed to the elders to being father of them all.. .

  The 35 year old MS has an affair with the live in 18 year old nanny? DF'd

  The couple that gets invloved with another bro from another cong. that gives them High Colonics. She runs off with the guy for 4 days. She get's df'd

  Brother marries a nice jw gal. She turns lesbo. gets DF'd

  Elder with 3 handsome young boys, pilar of the cong. Runs off with wordly woman, he deserts his family. gets DF'd.

  Elder, Wt conductor, 3 sweet children. he beats his wife up, she leaves him, takes the kids out of state. Had been abusing his wife for years. Playing kissy face with other sisters for years. he DIDN"T get DF'd.

  And the hits just keep on coming, don't they?

  Moments at the District Assembly You'll Never Forget...

  i'll never forget the assembly in madison, wi.

  where some poor sap had to tell everyone that he had become addicted to porno on the net, but through much prayerful contemplation and after confessing to the elders he was able to come to "grips" with it.. good luck to that guy with ever getting a fine sister to marry him.. poor guy.

  The Silverdome, Pontiac, Mich. What early 90's? It's the afternoon session, kinda hot, had no air in that place. So, anyways. There was a black brother on the platform, his part, and he anonunces to the audience" All you young people up there walking around.........smiling......... styling........... and ((((((((((((((((( PROFILING)))))))))))))))))))).... come on down here and set with your folks." He had the whole stadium rolling in the aisles. We now quote him quite often in private BS sessions, if you know what I mean.

  i've straightened myself out concerning what i'm going to do about my life.

  i am going to be reinstated (hopefully), just to get in and then fade away.

  my problem is that i don't want to lie if i'm asked a direct question.

  They may very well ask you if there's anything that you have done as a sin while you were df'd. They tend to want to clear the air. They won't want you to IMPEED the holy spirit. However, it has been my expierence that by not telling them the whole truth that this will NOT impeed the holy spirit in their actions with you. It's not there anyways. They don't have it to begin with. By agreeing to meet with you to consider re-instating you they have already observed you at the kh and most likely have reached a decision on your part. All they need to know from you is that you have turned around from your old course and are truly sorry for what you have done. You don't need to have them believe any differently. That is of course unless they know of your secret sin, which from what you have said, your wife doesn't even know. Get your marriage together and keep it that way. Put on a good show at the kh for about 6 months then take the fade.

  changeling: I appreciate your input and so, might I ask you this....Why is there then so much emphasis put on this GOD"S name? Throughout history man has always had a name for this GOD. Be it Jehovah, Alah, Vishnu, Buddha, Jesus......or just GOD. Did he simply create all things with a sense of humour and then let things just fall as they may?

  I like what you had to say about a creator and not a God with a sense of urgency in following up on his creation.

  jw's view of dress code for women

  the dress code that the society imposes on the women has been a thorn in my side ( manner of speaking).

  theses old men dictate how a women should dress and i do mean "a dress".

  i can remember when i lived in connecticut and the temp would be in single digits and when it came time for field service you must put on that dress.

  megaflower! Welcome to you!! The old boys in the Tower have decided that all the sisters are subserviant! Didn't you know that? Did you know that the movie"The Stepford Wives" was patterned after the jw women??? It's a FACT, right guys??

  All in all, I have long felt that sisters were really put down by the wts, and that consideration should be given to climate and societal norms for the area in which we live. Spandex??? On whose body are we referring? Do you think that us former brothers really enjoyed wearing a suit or a sport coat in 90 degree temps???For crying out loud, we aren't going to a business meeting afterall, are we??? And, tell me this, Is the householder wearing the same apparel as we?? Most of the time we have no clue who will show up wearing WHAT if anything to the door. I once encountered a woman who was barely wearing a smile.
