My sisters partner died last night
by wobble inmy sister has pioneered since shortly after she left school in the mid-sixties.
she has had the same pioneer partner ,and shared a house with her,for over thirty years.. last night her long time friend died.
she had not enjoyed the best of health in recent years, but at 59, this is a devastating shock to my sister.. the problem is i don't really know what to say to her, she knows i don't believe the wt's view on life after death, so i suppose i shall just have to provide a listening ear.

i guess my two older kids could
have just as easily been sexually
abused in any other faith group....getting out of and away from
all things JW has made life, healing
recovery etc infinitely easier....will i ever be able to admit
to having been a JW without
being embarrassed? not likely -

all that jw borg style programing is falling away and whats left is someone who keeps surprising me.
i'm alot happier in myself now, and alot more at ease.

ever developing, that is a certainty!
i do note this: i still spend hours everyday
in study, but now it is genuine academic
pursuit with a means to an end.... no pun intendedi am happier, much more engaged in THIS ONE LIFE,
with a game plan that centers around burning out
rather than rusting out...i thoroughly enjoy participating in the larger community,
am becoming a novice policy wonk in the issues that have
deepest significance in my life, i get to SLEEP, and i have
purged my wardrobe of everything JW, except the excellent
winter boots i got for service....my kids love me, my husband and i have been able to stop
the efforts pretending the marriage might just work, and have
a friendly comfortable estrangement.....basically, i stopped being stepford drone
it has been nothing short of brilliant! -

monolithic entity that the continent has over 60
discreet territories more muslims than christians,
thousands of distinct languages, including those

portable sanitary stations are established and often have the longest lines...i was waiting for a friend to emerge from one of the dozen port-a-johns when
a man came out of his chosen john, holding a large bag, filled with his acquired
treasures from the festival, in one hand.... and sporting a dab of the foam hand
in his other hand....i motioned to him to let me assist him by holding his bag while he washed up....
mentioning to him my mother had been a public health nurse and she would
applaud his attention to hygiene....when he took his bundle back, he didnt say thank you
he said: you have the heart of a servant.....
i suspect those are some of the kindest words
i have ever had directed to me....... -
