it seems to me that the borg has no right to criticize apparent wrongs in the world because their members are not allowed to take part in politics.for instance how can they call something in the worldly system wrong if they do not vote against it or do something constructive to change the status quo.. it's no use them complaining about something they disagree with and at the same time opt out of the system .in other words, it's nothing to with them so tell them to clear off and mind their own business and leave the worlds wrongs to people who are trying to do something constructive about it.. words in the waktower will not cure anything, positive action gets things done .. for heavens sake how much more ink are they going to waste and how many more trees are they going to destroy before they realise actions speak louder than words?.

so i was at the gym today(as always) speaking to the super moms(lol).
they were all talking about nutrition and the value of a sensible diet.
then they asked me what i consume daily, as i was going to give them thee ideal lie of what i "should" eat hence the word "eat" - i said this: my daily food groups include: coffee cigarettes, vodka and the morning after pill.. silence among the mini van driving crowd.. then i laughed and walked away fully knowing i will not be getting an invite to their next tupperware party - oh darn it all to heck.. people need to lighten up and take a joke, i still think it was funny!.
i can claim a sense of humour as i find that hilarious!!!! i AM going to insert that somewhere in a convo in the next month if even the remotest opportunity arises!
my 4 kids were all homebirthed ......both my parents were medical professionals, a DO and RN, so i rebelled and did everything i could to avoid contact with hospitals.... (heard WAY too many horror stories)
ANYWAY, when i was pregnant with my 2nd kid, i was picking up the older one at his nursery school, and another mom due about the same time as me had had her "routine ultrasound" and knew she was having a boy..... she asked me if i was having a boy or a girl and i answered.... "i sure as heck hope so.... i am not expecting a puppy"......
needless to say i got no invite to her baby shower..... (and mine was a girl!)
don't take this wrong i appreciate kind words or good advice from anyone.
got lot's of nice pm's recently from some concerned ones here this week....but i got two from a jw lady, that i had explained i had some lingering issues with being taught me and my parents would never get old and die....among other things....she said:.
i don't recall ever being told i would never die.
intentions aside, for good or ill.... is it not evident nearly every member here has direct access to more than enough resources related to the teachings of the WTBTS ? intentions aside, it seems awfully intrusive, even moreso than door to door preaching on a holiday!!

i think posting on a discussion board can tend to come across in a certain way, personality wise.. i'm the type of person "in real life" that is usually considered quite funny.
i have a very quick wit and i can usually disable someone rather quickly with a facial expression, smile or definitive body language.
of course, you can't see those things here but you might notice a person's humor (or lack of it) by how they post.. so what tickles your funny bone?
sardonic and pithy is what my best mate tells me.... repeatedly! i like to make commentary on events as they occur.... she begs me to do stand up, but i swear it would kill the muse..... my humour is for my entertainment and if it spills over, all the better
many of us believe the days of the watchower society may be numbered.
they are receiving an unprecedented amount of well deserved negative publicity.
however, they are still experiencing modest growth.
i see merit thinking a slowing of growth with a trend toward decline as a just and deserved fate for the borg.....
i think it is indicative of the trend to learn that evidently a substantial number of "publishers" fake their hours!... surely that is no way to increase the fold! and likely as more and more scandals and false prophecies come to the fore.... more defections and fewer conversions.....
sure.... why not? slow and steady will work for me....... even tho a cataclysmic demise would be more enthralling!!

i've made mention in a couple of recent posts how some witnesses have come to my house.
i wasn't home but received a note.
in the development where i live, there are a couple of families that go to the local kh.
it is not cowardly to consider your options .....
and then be dismayed that you have to HAVE options because of that misguided "loving provision" that divides families for no other reason than a difference of opinion!!!

i have a deck, that initially was sealed by hand with a brush.
twice over and took me a month.......it's over 1000 square feet.
pressure treated pine.
we have a 3/4 wrap-around with 4 sets of stairs..... cedar..... i feel your pain facing a large project....
because we are trying to catch up on all "deferred maintenance" in order to sell the property once there is even the slightest recovery of the housing market, we have done the back half this past autumn, using sikkins products, which are a bit pricey but have a high quality.....
the brochure from the product line instructs the homeowner to clean the decking surface top (AND bottom for the initial application) by treating it with a cleaning solution of bleach and tri-sodium phosphate (TSP) and then powerwashing..... we used a 3 gallon garden sprayer for cleaning and stain application.... it totally sucked under the deck, but otherwise it is the most efficient method we could devise
so far so good..... thank god the cold weather came and we had to stop!!! but i can tell you the difference between the cleaned and stained portion and the still to be done section is AMAZING......
for the record i tried to convince the hub to use extruded wood composite but i was over-ruled so now we are paying an additional 2 grand to spiff the deck up for someone else to enjoy.... go figure
