totally impressive!!
excellent research to show the flaws in the "progressive revelations" and the shadows created by "new light"
d@mn!!!! you guys are wicked good!!!
i would get so embarresed in fields service when the person i was working with would be bound and determined to find someone at home.
1. look in windows.
2. walk around to the back of house (snooping).
i must confess this....
whilst i was never a reg pioneer and only aux pioneered once..... i DID do the jumping out of the car to grab a householder pulling out of their driveway to place ... i think a kingdom news?
but in my defence!!! it was rural territory, at the end of a snow-covered and rutted dirt road, in the winter time and NO ONE wanted to have to come back to try to find someone home.....
so... was it for the benefit of the householder?
hell no...... it was to keep from having to listen to some lame @ss BS from a pushy pioneer to "finish the territory before the CO visit".... i got me a N/I instead of a not-at-home!!! score!!!
how does it really feel to be free from the watchtower's chains of bondage?
somehow i just dont miss getting up on a saturday morning, and instead of having a sense of peace, feeling the dread of the ritual of waking 4 recalcitrant kids and moving the whole morning along to a monumental waste of time.... they hated it... *I* hated it and more than once i asked myself what was gained by having everyone p*ssed off, at each other, at the world.... what was gained after 2 hours of schlepping around with a canned presentation that more than likely ticked off the people whose saturday mornings were less insane?
guess that is where the cognitive dissonance kicked in..... thank god for system override!!
as witnesses we were always encouraged to reach out for the privalige of doing this or that or a whole lot of other stuff that doesnt make any scence now .. but its important in life to have something to reach out to.with me i have my wife my little kid and financial security (the kid came aftter i left the witnesses) .
only i havnt found anything to replace the importance of reaching out.as a witness (however misguided that reaching out was).
what in your life has replaced your once sincere belives and given your life the purpose you once had?.
i found a niche thru most unfortunate circumstances
i have been a member for over 3 years and a moderator since nov 05 on a forum for adult survivors of CSA ( childhood sexual abuse).... and i have met IRL 5 of the members, and if we were to count the "alters" for the 2 who are Dx'd DID, then it is in double digits! ( FYI... barbara anderson specifically mentions in one of her documents that the society rejected the notion of DID or multiple personality disorder.... wankers)
one of the youngest ones i met, 21 at the time, needed to be removed from current jeopardy...... so i moved her 900 miles away from a perp and helped set her up with an apt. and a serviceable vehicle..... she just turned 24 and has a decent job, moved to a nicer apt and invited me to spend new years with her.... which i did!!!
i write "children's stories" for the very special population of "littles" .... the youngest of alters in a dissociative system
speaking only for myself......it is so much more fulfilling to serve humanity by reaching out to fulfill needs in present circumstance than offering the tripe that " paradise will heal all harm"... they are suffering NOW!
there are a lot of people who have complained of "no love" in their congregations.
i'm wondering if they gave of themselves, in reality, if they look back.
as an elder, i tried to "be there" when someone was in need but i must admit that i didn't always want to have to listen to a person's problems or a families' issues or some of the most ridiculous complaints, you could imagine.. were you really there for your brothers and sisters?
we were "there"
because we had the means, we were able to offer housing to 1) an elderly couple who had 28 days to move from their apt ( they spent a total of 4 months), 2) a young couple who came as bro elder (MTS assignment) and sis pioneer to assist the congro ... 3 months, 3) other widowed bro elder from MTS assignment..... 2 months.... 4) random bro/sis who had a devastating auto accident near here who spent nearly 5 weeks in our accomodations....... as well as a being a refuge from domestic abuse for a young sis and her 3 children from alcohlic non dub spouse ..... at least 3 occasions there and once for 6 weeks in our house as the accomodation was being utilised ( my fam of 6 plus her fam of four, our 3 dogs, her 3 dogs and EVERYONE got the flu!... total 3rd world experience!) .... no one paid one thin dime..... or even made the offer!!! which we would have refused.....
lots of other cases of being "there" for many many others.( actually mid-wiving for 2 sisters, financial help, like 4 new tires for PO ( see #3 above), paying overdue bills for "friends", hiring their businesses for work to be done......yada yada yada.... and yet, one refusal of a shepherding call ( you know the one..... read some piece of literature and pray) and we were dropped like a nasty habit!!!!
now, if there is an encounter... it is " why havent you been to mtgs?", not "so nice to see you!"
their house is abandoned to them ( guess we will be housing someone eventually)
http://ffrf.org/quiz/bquiz.php.
we found this quiz after reading the book parenting beyond belief and sweetpea and i decided to take the challenge - afterall how difficult can 50 bible questions be for us born and brought up as jw's?.
our results were enlightening to say the least - we both scored 28/50 - not exactly brilliant although apparently above average.. take the quiz and post your results and comments..
is it a good thing to look for fault in everything the borg does?
.
are we clutching at straws sometimes in our efforts to strengthen our fight and fuel our anger?.
CYNIC - Literally, in the Greek, "dog-like," the Cynics "barked" at society, snapping at its heels, attempting to awaken society from its conventional slumber. Although tradition traces the origin of Cynicism to one Antisthenes, a pupil of Socrates (469-399 BC), it was the legendary Diogenes (ca. 400-325 BC) who made Cynicism so famous, its continuity being established for over a millennium http://www.rodsmith.org.uk/philosophy%20glossary/philosophy%20glossaryA-C.htm
because everyone's story is their own... it is a matter of conscience
received email from a friend- enjoy it- the end is always around the corner.
a man is in the mountains, it's night time, he wanders off the road and .
falls off a cliff.
mine wasnt an email... rather a handwritten letter from a kindly older one in the cong who wishes there was SOMETHING she could do to help.....the END IS NEARER EVERY DAY and the world situation can change in a moment.....
hello!! it changes regularly, in less than a moment!!!
i do feel for her situation ..... widowed recently after 65 yrs.... all her association is in the borg..... it would be cruel to engage in any form of revelation at this point.... i will simply write back and tell her it is good to know she still thinks kindly of me and mine.....
the really cynical side of me figures she can use the letter writing as time for her field circus report
this is truly a beast that will not die!!!
here it is guys.
this is what darth frosty was talking about in his post the other day (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/149460/1.ashx).
this is a collection of confidential letters from the watchtower society that were sent to the bodies of elders in the years 1981 through 2006. these are the letters that you were never meant to see or read.. there's all sorts of information in them ranging from the boring and mundian to instructions about how to handle child molesters.. many thanks to darth frosty and others (who i'm not sure can be named) who worked very hard and took risks to collect and scan the information.
we had our meeting on the last day of the year 2006. the previous 5 yrs we had gone to the 9pm fireworks display in our local area with other witness familys.
this was so our children could enjoy the display and the family atmosphere.
( they also had rides and a concert for the kids).. well, back to the meeting.
every event that hosted fireworks in our community was attended by my kids, with usu their dad taking them, or as a family..... we sat close enough to have the debris from the pyrotechnics rain down on us!!
had bro theocratic mentioned that it was too worldly ..... pretty sure we would have sat closer still.....
brain dead killjoys
