Question... Does an elder lose his privileges if his 18 year old son stops attending the KH?

i'm starting to get a clearer picture of what's been happening with my nephew who has recently decided that he no longer wishes to be a part of "the lie"... it appears that my nephew may have been forced to move out by his elder father who was afraid of possibly losing his privileges by having a non-believing son under his roof.

that is the impression i'm getting by talking to my sister (his aunt who is not a jw).. while i try to figure this out... does anyone know if that is a valid possibility in general?

i'm referring to the possibility of an elder losing his privileges because his son no longer wishes to be a jw but still lives under the same roof... any insight by recently faded elders would be much appreciated.... thanks.

in my last hall an elder who was a very nice man, and one of the few good elders was deleted because a couple elders on the body didnt like the fact that his pioneer 19 year old daughter was dating a 20 year old pioneer brother. in their opinion the daughter was "casually" dating, even though they had been doing the text book JW courtship for months. so they told this elder to forbid his daughter from dating this brother further or be deleted as an elder. he chose to be deleted, and he has never been the same. i doubt he'll ever leave because he has so much family in the organization, but its a sad situation. about 6 months later the daughter marrys the brother she was dating and they both still pioneer. so that is a situation in which an elder was removed for no real reason. just on the opinion of a couple elders. i do wonder if they wanted him out for some reason, but regardless just like being DF'd, you can be removed as an elder for any reason the body or a co comes up with.

i was removed as a MS because i decided to not have my wedding in the kingdom hall because we wanted an outdoor wedding at a place that was special to my wife and i. which was a shock to me as the publications indicate that its a personal decision and its ok to not have the wedding in the hall.

during the meeting, which almost felt like a judical comittee when i was given the choice, i stepped down and stated that "i dont play politics". a few months after everything the co came, and brought me in the back room and had me sign a deletion document which stated that i "stepped down after using poor judgement about the wedding", he then lectured me on not bringing the filth and much of the world into a JW wedding. this guy was a known tyrant, and i had a feeling if i would have argued with him, he may of DF'd me. so even though I had no fucking idea what the hell he was talking about with the "muck and filth" comment, i figured the elders just lied to him about why i stepped down. anyway, i signed the sheet, and that was the first "bell ringing" incident that helped me realized that this was a cult.

i shortly after that moved to another congregation and the letter they sent must have had some crazy shit in it, cause this elder i was referring to in the first part of my post was friends with me, and he an another elder took me in the back and stated that they wanted to use me for privlages but were concerned that i would cause trouble. im not stupid, so i asked them if this has anything to do with the letter. they wouldnt tell me what was in the letter but i told them the whole story, and to my shock they believed me. like i said, this was a good guy, and he knew the elders from my old hall so he probably knew they were assholes as he used to be in that hall years ago.

then like a year after all this he gets deleted and a few other step down, and the replacements were a bunch of assholes who started to rule with an iron fist. im glad it happened cause it helped me wake up, but this was like 5 years ago, and its gotten worse all around.

whats it going to be like in 5 years? if you or your family dont comment at least 3 times a meeting you will be deleted? lol

I have allegedly been charged with apostasy

seems like there is a hightened level of paranoia, especially against "apostates". the latest assembly stated that apostacy starts by complaining if you were mistreated. LOL, thats insane. and they kept talking about how apostates are inside the congregation. in addition there seems to be a pattern going on, and that is people who are fading are being offered a sheperding call, and if they decline and judicial comitee forms under the claim they need to "clarify your position about the faithful slave". they are creating a condition in the congregations where the slightest bit of complaining no matter how true or warranted has people shouting "apostate!". its incredible.

yeah, that email sounds very fishy. that is not how normal people do business, and the "turning you into the authorties" makes no sense, for what? not paying the $24,000 bill that they just told you about? sounds like someone is trying to scam or scare you.

its amazing, at almost every convention and assembly they go off about how god hates divorce, and elders are always encouraging a abused spouse to stay with the abuser. they always go off about you can only get a scriptual divorce if there has been adultery, BUT what is never talked about is the little loop hole, and that is not only can you get a divorce if the mate is labeled "apostate" the elders many times will strongly encourage it. and many times the jw spouse forcing the divorce has someone in the congregation lined up to re-marry. and of course the elders grant the "scriptual divorce" since the other spouse is an "apostate", so of course and apostate is going to have already commited adultery in their minds.

to any person on this forum or on youtube like dale, here is my 2 cents. you are at war, if you want to be or not. your wife under these circumstances is a threat to your children. you MUST fight for your children. even if you (not dale, but anyone) feel worthless as a husband or wife, and feel like giving up, you still have to fight for the sake of the kids. just because you may feel worthless, your kids need a father/mother in their lives, and its never a lost cause with kids. you can reach kids, you have many years before they are adults. and you have something the JW spouse will never have, and its a key in this whole thing. and that is uncondional love. the is the most powerful weapon you can have. if you consistanly show your kids unconditional love, even if right now they arent sure about you or think you are evil, they will always remember that as they grow up. so go to war for your kids. keep the kids out of the battle field as much as you can. good luck.

i remember that conference call when publishing cult went on, up until that point i was a regular caller. but after seeing not only how Rick behaved, but how publishing cult was treated, at one point being called a "stupid fa**ot" by one of the regulars, and Rick blaming gay people and this forum for some people who were prank calling, that was the end for me. that was also the last day i considered myself a christian, not that the call was the reason, there were many other reasons that built up until that point, but the anti gay attacks against publishing cult were so visceral, i finally had had enough with "christians" and knew i no longer could identify myself with such a group. now, i dont consider all christians like that, there are some very reasonable ones on this forum that i respect. but for me, i cant be associated with the group anymore, for that, and many other reasons.

here we go with the same cycle that has been going on and on and on here, a jw apologist will come here, get their arguments destroyed, start posting less and less, then finally disapear.

but whats cool is sometimes they come back and admit its all bullshit and they apologise. remember bane? i always wonder who is the next bane. i know alot of the jw's like trhseaker when they finally admit to themselves the watchtower is false, they keep it to themselves, it takes a real honorable person to come back here and admit they were wrong. thats why i have a ton of respect for batzwana (aka bane).

recently my son had a minor injury that required a trip to the emergency room.

the admitting nurse asked us a ton of questions and then this:.

funny, this just happened to me. my wife, and i went to a gymboree art class with my young son (less than 2) and about 20 mins in, the teacher asks if we had a good christmas. and instead of the awkward pause and trying to come up with a way to not sound crazy, we said yes, and discussed all the family time and presents he got.

that was very freeing.

unrelenting criticism and critical information is rapidly coming forward exposing this esoteric cult.. are their hundreds of bethelites now understanding how evil their "faithfull slave" really is?

the watchtower could reform themselves to death, it would make no difference to me. i wouldnt go back under any circumstances because no ammount of reform will change the fact that they core docterines are based on bullshit. they would not possibly be able to change that.
