  it was yesterday morning and hubby and i were having a huge sleep in.

  it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.

  hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.

  you could name it "association for the worship of jehovah and his governing body" and you would not wake up most JW's. so i dont really think thats a factor. the part of this that i think is great is that it seems this group is going to try to bring awareness to the public about the watchtowers policys. i think you have a better chance at that than waking JW's up. waking JW's up should be a back seat issue, the main issue imo should be exposing watchtower and its insane policies.

  Maybe I missed it, but could someone please explain how that even if all the made up JW aplogists BS was true, how would it change the fact that Candace was sexually abused by Kendrick? And, how would it change what the elders did about it?

  this is a text book ad hominem attack.

  the people on topix also flat out DEFENDED Kendrick when he molested his step daughter. They claim that since she was "promiscuous" she "seduced" him.

  on the one hand I give Candace credit for answering the question, but on the other hand I find it to be beneath her to even entertain comments made by people who clearly DEFEND child molesters and the molesting of children.

  and some of them by their comments either are child molesters themselves or were molested as children and in a sick stockholm syndrome type of way defend their molesters.

  Imagine bringing back babies and grandmas just to then be told to kill them... How pathetic and cruel to the ones who thought they were spared momentarily. Then they had to kill all the baby boys and moms and grandmothers. BUT, look at that! KEEP the virgins! Amazing.

  this is exactly what i am talking about. its simply not possible to honestly and morally reconsile this with what is suposse to be a "god of love".

  and again, really sit down and meditate on these accounts and really think about what is being done. i never did that all my years as a JW, and most people dont do that. and to the aplogists, i notice you dance around the children and babies stuff and focus on "the wicked people". well, i'll give you the wicked people, but defend the killing of children and babies. i already heard the majority of defenses which i outlined before, so if you have something new, i'd love to hear it.

  this, and not genesis was what woke me up. especially the killing of children and babies. i mean you can make the argument that the wicked people who sacrificed their kids to their gods were worthy of death. but to also kill the babies and children makes no sense, especially for "a god of love". clearly they could have spared the babies, and raised them as their own. the counter arguments made by apologists were ridiculus, like god killing the children or babies was actually good for them because then they went to heaven, even if i bought that, there is nothing at all in the text to indicate that, so that is watchtower style iesisgesis.

  i think when you really meditate on these passages and really picture what is happening and dwell on it, you come away with realizing that if god does exist, he isnt the OT god. that dude makes hitler look like ghandi.

  the thing that amazed me about this book was how people were accepting this clowns assertions, when a simple google search reveals that what he stated happend is scientifcly impossiblem, and has been dubunked. i mean, i think even publications like newsweek had this on their cover as if there was legitimacy to it. and it was a pathetic appeal to authority that was not even accurate. that is akin to putting snuffleupagus on the cover with the heading "Respected Doctor Talks To Imaginary Friend! Snuffy May Not Be Imaginary Afterall!" lol

  what it the point of view of the watcthower on transexuals, transgenders and intersex people?

  an article was written about it by the watchtower bible and tract society, but was never published.

  however, several jehovahs witnesses in position of authority are aware of it.

  yeah, like posted above, the only stories i know of in regards to this were the JW's told the trans sexual person that they had to basicly stop it. that if you were pre op- to stay the sex you were born with, and i read instances where they were post op, they were told they had to change back to their original sex. JW's are insane.

  Congregation had to relocate Memorial...thanks to me

  so, the two local congregations were planning to hold their memorial together at 7:30 at the local community center, but they had to make a last-minute change to their own hall, and i'm pretty sure it was because of me.. let me explain.... at work on monday afternoon, a co-worker returned from her lunchbreak and showed me the memorial invitation that was waiitng in her door when she went home for lunch.

  i noticed the sticker on the back indicated the memorial was being held, not at the local hall, but at the community center.

  from a past (non-jw) event i attended there, i knew they didn't allow alcohol (unless you pay for security guards), so i wrote to the center's coordinator:.

  Memorial Hell

  today has been one of the most aganizing days since i woke up.

  my family has been pressuring me to show up at the memorial for the past week.

  it became very intense today with my dad texting me constantly to get me to confirm and when i didn't answer he would call my wife and then she would constantly nag me to answer my dad and so on and so forth.

  good for you for standing your ground. there are many accounts like yours on here, sometimes the wife wakes up in due time, so dont lose hope. just continue to be nice and thoughtful and be a good husband.sometimes that wins them. the best you can do when they do their guilt trips is ignore them, and if your family pulls the "we are shunning you" BS, then just push on with your life. i know that sounds cold, maybe thats just how i am, but any JW that shuns me, is dead to me and i push on and dont lose any sleep on it. not all people can do that, perhaps im extra jaded. but that is my 2 sense.
