personally i think it will end with a whimper.

i think that they will always have members, but after the "system" continues and more and more people get discouraged, df'd, da'd, or fade after a long enough time they will slowly continue to consilidate halls (lose members) until it finally get so small they eventually go by the wayside or switch to something like e-meetings or web-meetings or once yearly conventions.

any takers??

Anybody watch the premiere of "Lie To Me" on FOX tonight?

one of the stories revolved around a witness-raised teenager accused of killing a high school teacher.

interesting, pretty accurate portrayal of jehovah's witness parents, with a couple of flubs (they said "the lord" instead of what they'd really say, "jehovah god").. the parents were, however, described as being outcast or criticized by their own congregation for being somewhat extremist and isolationist in their views.

i couldn't buy that the congregation would criticize any such parents for being so devout about their views; i'd think they'd be pillars in the org.. the kid also said "i swear to god" which i was explicitly told i should never utter when i was a dub.. very good show, otherwise.

the price of a gallon of gas is back down to around 2 bucks -- less than that, even, if you don't get premium.. so, with that "hardship to brothers" at least temporarily lessened, does that mean the weekly one-hour book study in private homes is back on again?.

according to the feb 2009 kingdumb misery, this is the title of the new hounder-hounder talks for public talks starting march 1. now, i can only imagine worldly fantasies include having a family, a reasonable measure of health and security, and being able to live a decent life.

kingdumb reality means throwing your life away out in field circus, attending boasting sessions, dutifully studying washtowel publications every tuesday all evening, and dying stagnant and having produced zero value in your own life.

i know this sounds crazy however being raised a jehovah's witness gave me the tools of respect for my fellow man.

also my parents had a huge role as well,of course.. i just find today there are soo many twisted people who are amused by the sickest of circumstances and pride themselves on belittling people.i mean i am the first to say.

i love funny sarcasm and making fun of the jehovah's witness religion because i believe in my heart its a crazy cult and way out in left field.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses a Cult?

i have found these 14 characteristics of a typical cult and below are some questions regarding the behaviour of a cult.

my personal opinion is that the watchtower society fits into most of these characteristics, with the exception of 1& 14. possibly part of number 10 fits, but not all.

i feel that all of the questions posed should be asked of jw's and all of the further symptoms apply too.
