There was one poster in particular that was invaluable to me here: AlanF. W/o having known him I might have gone back to the dubs. He helped me see how a resurrection is impossible. He helped me question the Bible and God and helped me reason through everything. He didn't just say, "this is how it is".. he asked the right questions and let me answer them myself. One of the most amazing people I have ever met online. He helped me find my religious comfort zone: agnostism. A wonderful, wonderful man. Brilliant. I wish he would adopt me.

by StoneWall infor goodness sakes people get over it already!.
i can't even read over a thread hardly now without someone almost hi-jacking it with saying something like oh i hope simon changes his mind about shutting down this board or saying well he shouldn't be on a power trip and just sell it or give it to someone to continue on.
he has answered each of these numerous times and each time said no.

If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem.
Interesting observation considering the purpose of this thread: to whine

My theory about the behavior and obsession of some ex-JWs
by Simon ini've had this theory for some time and alluded to it occassionally but have never explored it in detail.. it is of course a huge generalisation so no, not everyone will fit into the boxes and i'd like people's opinion.
i don't know everyone's circumstances so it's based on a small sample of some of those i do know something about.
it could be completely wrong, it's just an idea.. basically, i have seen a difference between some of those ex-jws who walked out vs those who were kicked out.. the most bitter and obsessive seem to be the kicked out and, i must add, those who were legitimately kicked out.

Angry yes... but at whom or what and for what reason ? If your husband cheats on you ,your're angry so why
not kick your dog in the head on the way out the door.? ...... hey you got a right to be angry !
Caliber
When the anger is SO profound and the pain so EXCRUTIATING.. it's not uncommon to lash out at every one and every thing. Pain, hurt, angry.. they aren't always reasonable. A potential counter-defense is empathy. A person feeling this way just needs someone to listen and understand. They won't find this at the KH.. maybe amongst fellow ex-jws?
We don't all walk away feeling whole and complete. Some of us want to scream and punch and sob until we have no strength left.
/flashback
Wow.. memories... what were we talking about?

some people are just being "mad at the world " seems to apply here.
Can't always blame them either..
I was absolutely one of those people who was "mad at the world". How else was I to feel when everyone that ever "loved" me turned their back on me?
I tend to think even if a person breaks every JW rule in the book, they have the right to be hurt and in pain.. and angry.

we can agree that there are circumstances where the rules broken warrant removal.
True, true.

Some are DFd because they did things wrong and knowingly broke the rules
Guilty here! I was born in and baptized as a child and knowingly broke the rules. I was a typical, horny teenager. I could never be convinced that born-ins like myself deserve what we got for wanting a normal existence.
(I haven't read the entire thread, so maybe this has been addressed )
