I guess they pick and choose who they want to help. I find it disturbing these elders among others in the congregation get away with so many horrible things. Then they have the nerve to judge us, how dare they!!!

I finally Left!
by The Doc 58 ini would like to give the full details of my leaving the jw's, but i don't have a lot of time at this moment.
basically i was raised in the organization and it drove me pretty insane bacause my father was an elder, mother a pioneer, sister a bethelite, etc.
so, i did the whole thing for a long time.

Stuartmc depending on the her kids age and how they interact with you, you may have a hard time dealing with them as far as them accepting you. I just have a question based on what you said previously that you've been preaching to her about your religion; are you expecting her to join your religion? I hope your're not because I don't think that's such a great idea for the simple fact that she had to deal with so much because of the JW cult. I don't think is fair as Sirona stated. Anyways, I hope everything goes well this weekend with you and her and her kids.

I read all the post and I have to say that I don't have such a great feeling about the person you are with. Things are good now but he will revert back to his old ways, you can't change an individual's way of thinking overnight. I agree with some of the other post especially from the people that were in abusive relationship they KNOW the signs all too well. All these things that you mentioned have been going on in your relationship for a while now, that is what I picked up on from reading what your post. The reason why we are so critical is that if you read back on the things you mentioned is seems like the bad outweighs the good. You only keep saying he's good to you versus the negative comments. He seems selfish he only cares about his feelings not yours. Pretty soon he is going to start choosing the the company you should keep it seems that he gets to choose the friends that you two should hang around with which consists of his jwd friends and others. I may come across abrasive in this post which are not my intentions but while you don't see that this man is causing you pain some us do see it but what will it take for you to see it? I've been in a extremely long relationship since I was a JW and the man I'm with was a non-JW. I never dragged him down with me when I was having my issues to leave the religion, which I eventually did I dissociated myself. I never blamed him for my issues with my religion, he was always there to support me and love me unconditionally, communication was key and blaming was not the answer. We are still together to this day. This person you're with has a pattern that he follows when it gets too hot in the kitchen he blows the fire your way. Gee, that's true love? You deserve better and in time you will see that there are great people out there that will show you the meaning of true love, not selfishness.

I apologize, I didn't see your new post. I think we may be able to help her, It seems that she is frustrated with the religion. If you feel that you still want to be with her then it's your decision I hope everything works out, I hope she doesn't turn her back on you and I'm sorry she was in abusive relationship. Did you ever tell her about the website?

I will tell you to stay as far away as possible. She still continues to participate in the religion. Eventually I'm pretty sure she will tell someone in the religion that she is dating or speaking to a non-believer which some how the elders will find out in turn will cause her to start telling you to join the religion, that is how it all begins, most of us in here already know how this is going to play out. Ask yourself if you really believe she won't try to change your ways. Correct me if I'm wrong but the fact that you are asking us certain things makes me believe that you know deep down inside that she will change. Don't put yourself or your kids through that; the heartache is not worth it. Can you ask her why she was disfellowhipped, she seems unstable form certain things you told us. If she is unstable in certain things what makes you think she could handle a seroius relationship? If I were you I would stay away, it may not be what you wanted to hear but a broken heart is worse....

Experience from a bible study student
by Vincent ini have left the jehovah's witnesses(jw) organisation after hearing of the death of emma gough who was 22 years old and refused blood while giving birth to twins.
as i thought of this i thought this would put me in a similar situation but with having a brain tumour operation like i did on 7/12/06
i studied the what the bible teaches book and got to chapter 13 until 28th oct 07 i left after hearing of the terror of that death.

Vincent I'm sorry about everything that happened to you including the death of your brother from the use of drugs. I'm a little perplexed by that man that text you that hitler comment, but that's a different story. I am glad you stumbled across this website. You will find the support system you always wanted along with factual information from experienced individuals that will assure you that the decision you've made is the correct one. As you can see on the left hand side of your screen I am a newbie also. I was a baptized witness, but just like you I realized they were trying to brainwash me and others, and the hyprocrisy was beyond unimaginable proportions, I couldn't stand it. I decided to dissociate myself 4 years ago because I would never allow them the staisfaction to kick me out, I left on my own terms which is what they hate the most, they tried hounding me down countless times, to the point that the elder was practically screaming nervously on my phone, I had to change my number. They will continue to harrass you like a cult would because in reality that is what they are. I will assure you your days of being depresses will go away because you found the issue that was causing you so much pain, take it one day at a time. Once again welcome to the website.

Let me start off by saying that I'm glad to know this support group and website is available. I decided to dissocaite myself four years ago. I actually emailed an author that wrote a book about her experience as jw and why she left. She told me I was doing the correct thing and that they will continue to harrass me (which they did.) I just wanted to give a little background information before I begin my comment. I'm not sure how often people on the site frequent certain video sites, but I found some interesting videos about Jehovah's witness Exposed. One of the things that caught me by suprise is that the individual that came after Russell, I'm not sure if it's Franz or someone else I can't recall; basically he was the one that started the JW's version of the bible, it turns out he was a satanist and was into the occult and magic. I was shocked and angry. There were many other things exposed. Did anyone else know about this? I also saw the video from a news site that interviewed two young ladies that were raped by members of the congregation. The elder that was present with theml eft as well because they didn't like the fact that he was exposing the truth. The elders in the congregation told the girls that if there wasn't two eyewitnesses present at the time they were raped it cant be true. What the heck is that!!! I was so upset about that. The elders also told her that if she prays to jehovah he won't listen to her prayers because what she has done is a horrible thing. I just can't believe they refuse to beleive these young girls, they cover up everything that religion is a Cult! I may be repeating old things that people already know, I apologize if this has been discussed already. I heard there is a new book coming out by a high ranking memeber of the religion that has left, does anyone know anything about this? ( I didn't mention the name of the sites because I'm not sure if we are allowed to do that.)
