since everyone gave me a warm welcome i'll go ahead and tell you my whole story.
as i said before, i was raised in the truth in central ohio.
regular pioneered starting in senior year of high school (should have studied more instead...)for about 3 years, then decided to quit because i had a falling out with my best friend at the time and she and half her family were pioneering.
Welcome again, aunty. (I think I spelled it rite this tyme.)

Your brother really knows how to gather his thoughts and put them into writing! It is so sad that the Society enforces harshness and shunning, when it could use the talents of people like him in spreading their message. Oh well, the message isn't worth spreading anyhow.

No, like the others, I wouldn't go back. However, it would be nice to see the changes listed by Scully and the others, so that for those there who cannot or will not leave, those that I know and still love, they will have a more NORMAL and FRIENDLY place to worship in.
For example, if the reforms of the two-eyewitness rule take place and the JW organization no longer is such an easy place to hide for pedophile perverts, then the children I know in the organization will be safer, and that will give me a greater measure of comfort.

Yes it's really unclear exactly when Judas was asked to leave. Only the account in John 13 tells of Judas being asked to leave. It seems Judas was there for the FIRST part of the meal, with a morsel being dipped -- Jesus' sign about who his betrayer was. But the "morsel eating" wasn't the bread and the wine. The unleavened bread isn't dipped in anything.
So Judas must have been dismissed during the middle of the meal.
That's the best I can make out of it. My alternate take is --- Judas cut off his HAND, left it at the table, and then Jesus could say --- look "his hand" is with me.... Sorry that's probably way too weird.

just wanted to say this since i have no where else at the moment to vent at the moment and for lurkers...also, it might be timely since coc has been under discussion in a few threads lately.
i am doing research and taking it slowly right now.
i know lot's have been helped by coc, even me, as it put a lot of things into perspective.

We owe thanks to Ray Franz for exposing the truth about the WT Society as only he could do. Also we can thank Simon for working hard to establish and maintain this support and fellowship site.
COC was enough for me, it helped me untangle from the mental bondage to the WT Society. I found ISOCF a bit heavy, and now it has earned an esteemed place in the "I might get to this" part of my bookshelf. After my experience with the "one true brotherhood" or so they say, I find it hard to let any organization come in and control or monitor or remind me how I should or shouldn't worship. That's where I've landed, some are able to (or feel the need to) gain fellowship with other religions or belief systems. Hopefully they're not trading the frying pan for a fire!
Anyhow, I hope to hear more from you in the future.
