  I don't know if Joseph Rutherford has ANYTHING to tell us any more. How many people even remember him? We have enough trouble keeping up with the antics of the current tribe of yo-yo's who run the show.

  If Rutherford had any decency, he would tell us now "hey it was all a big joke! We have no idea what is true, any more than anyone else. Go ahead, relax, enjoy life a little". But I'm afraid he would really say "do more, serve the organization, avoid the outside world like the plague, for its end is just around the corner".

  Your girlfriend's mother sounds like a real piece of work!! Anyhow, you've made it clear that your girlfriend is thinking like a JW, and wants to please them. She is putting "her god" ahead of you, which is her choice.

  Now it's time to make your choice! Hopefully you can see that you need someone who's not so tightly screwed into a phoney baloney religious system. Do yourself a favor and quit before getting even more emotionally involved.

  REINSTATEMENT-how long does it take?

  if anyone can tell me how long it takes to be reinstated, i would greatly appreciate it.

  years ago when i was a witness, it was determined by the individual's progress.

  someone has relayed to me that it is now a mandatory minimum of 1 year.

  There is no set amount of time but if you kiss up to the elders and jump through their hoops, and act submissive and all sad, you can really speed up the process!

  What a wonderful provision the Society has given to local body of elders to quickly dismiss sheep rather than truly helping them. After all, you do need to deal with matters rapidly as an elder so you can get back to your families and your pleasurable weekends! Don't let the needs of the individual sheep get in your way. Get rid of people you have no use for! PRAISE BE TO THE WATCHTOWER SOCIETY!!

  Hi Dorian

  The key question here is what does your girlfriend herself want? If she gets reinstated, then you will become the target of endless conversion attempts, from all different angles, from now till the end of time. Her religion will dominate her life, and prevent her from celebrating normal holidays and birthdays, and will impose a barrier between any children you may have and other children they know. Her preaching and meeting activity will take precedence over anything else, it's pretty much required by the faith.

  If she doesn't want to get reinstated into JW's, please don't force it. It will be a source of contention between her and her family, but at least you'll be able to have a more normal relationship and life.

  I don't know enough to really get more specific, perhaps I said too much already.

  for me, the word was "loving".. great "loving" kindness.. great undeserved "loving" kindness!.

  disfellowshipping is a "loving" provision.. when the wtbts want their accolytes to swallow another bitter pill, another restriction, another rebuke, another demand on time, the buzz word is "loving".. the "loving" word, is, to the average jw, the same as the mccabe nod is to the salesman.

  the mccabe nod is used by salesman all the time to get the prospective customer to agree to something that he doesn't care for too much.

  keep in mind that the blood cards are produced and circulated in all other countries worldwide.

  if they are not so in the us, please do not scream too loudly that major changes are occuring etc., because this has got to be some local us thing, if it is true what you say that they are not renewed in the us.

  But when I went to the Kingdom Hall all those years, every January it was like a life-or-death matter that you have the card filled in, signed and dated with the current date! You were most untheocratic if you did not do so!

  So...why the change in attitude for this year, 2002? "You can just keep your present cards... NO WORRY" -- why is it less important this year than last?

  I'm not looking for a conspiracy, just wanting to understand better why it was so important before and why the attitude is so casual towards the 'no blood' card now.
