Maybe its not so much Christianity that is wrong.
We have made it very complicated through the ages.

Thanks Onacruse
I didn't need those volumes for what I was doing.
But just happened to notice they weren't on it.
I soon hope to have a copy of the 2001 CD.
I have just been doing some reserach using WT CD-Rom 1995.
I've just discover that out of all the Watchtower magazines, 1982 and 1985 are missing.
Anyone know why, is it just an omission, or where they missed delibrately.
or did you only wear solid colors?
will this bland, meaningless topic generate replies?
will i achieve "master" status before the month is out?
Yeah I wore a pinstripe suit. navy with the stripes
Also had a dark green one with faint yellow stripes, A plain light blue one, also the usual dark suit. And patterned ties.
Used give talks wearing any of them. No one said a thing.
every forum has it's flavor, posters, laws and mentalities.
how would you evaluate this forum?
what do you like about it, and what would you change if possible?
I think this forum is pretty good.
Since my leaving the JW's. It has helped me realise d I'm not the only one who has been through what I have. That there are others also still suffering from the effects of leaving, of being shunned by family, being considered nothing because you have left.
I have also gain a lot of information about the organisation that even I after being a JW for nearly 30 years didn't know. I have seen how different views exist in other parts of the world to here in Britain. How in USA they do seem to be far "stricter" than here on certain things. How they also seem to be more frightened of "demonic influence" . I mean the thing about Smurfs really cracked me up, here in Britain no one took a blind bit of notice of them.
The information gleaned from those who are still JW's in name only has been interesting. What goes on in their Kingdom Halls etc. Keeping me up to date with latest WT thoughts.
But also I've seen how ex-JW's have born up under what they have gone through. How they sometimes can laugh at their situation.
Yes i think this is a really good forum.
well maybe many in the us have not had the pleasure of the center parcs.
vacations.
sub tropical, scantily clad people.. but here in the uk and europe... we know all about them,...... especially if you are a jw.... once a year, in fact the week just before xmas, the jws descend in hordes on the different center park locations dotted around the uk - eg - sherwood and elvedon.. well if you want to see jws have a good time, book now!
Center Parcs!!
I thought they had finished with them years ago.
I remember in the North-West of England congregations being warned about going to Oasis in the Lakes. Even the management of the the place got fed up of JW's and the trouble they were causing. And that was 10-15 years ago.
remember the fears everyone had when aids first hit the news?.
here was a new killer virus that didn't have a cure and people feared it could be passed on cups, on seats, by shaking hands, by coughing and sneezing and so on.. it turns out that it couldn't and while there is still no cure, the infection rate is actually relatively low.
it takes 2 years for an aids victim to infect someone else.. now we have sars, everything changes.
Yeah
Be on the front page of the Watchtower as another sign that the end is near.
my jw husband's jw parents in florida (the ones who shunned him for years when he was disfellowshipped) were recently raving about their new ceragem massage bed.
the actually purchased one for their home for around $2,000.
they say many members of their congregation use these beds at a ceragem location there in ft. lauderdale.
It probably goes back to the view they had that doctors were agents of the devil.
I have recently been in contact with an a JW he and his wife left the WT recentlt, over the UN and chnages in teaching. He had been a JW for nearly 50 years. The last 12 years as an elder.
But he an his wife are both Complimentary Medicine Practioners. They do acupuncture, aromatherapy, homeopathy, herbalists. They have been doing so for the past 20 years. They both have B.Sc degrees in the subject also. Many JW's used to go to them for treatment. No JW has ever said it was wrong. They even checked with Brooklyn before embarking on learning to become practioners.
They say it is not wrong for a JW or Christian to use such medical treatments. Yet they speak about how the forces of the Universe work within each person. That a persons "Chi" can be unbalanced and needs to be corrected by acupuncture etc. Yet they are adamant there is no mystical connections, just that we are all from the earth so that treatments from the earth herbs, homeopathy etc can cure us.
They seem to forget that a lot of countries also did there own programs on the subject of JW's and child abuse.
They all uncovered the same lies and cover-ups by JW congregations. All congregations were following the same policy laid down by Brooklyn Bethel.
Which amounts to let the children suffer, as long as we look good.

Hey I like that.
Mind if I use it elsewhere.
