The New World Translation is a Mess
by Amazing inthe new world translation (nwt) contains thousands of serious errors.
the following regarding john 1:1, one of the most noteworthy verses to jehovah's witness and ex-jehovah's witnesses alike, provides a case example of how and why the nwt cannot be trusted.
there some few scholars that translate the word was "a god" or "a god" or "divine" but they are in the very low percentages.. in greek john 1:1 says: "en arche en ho logos, kai ho logos en pros ton theon, kai theos en ho logos.

Ive always wondered what the JWs in Greece or people with Greek as their first language think about the WT explanation !
We have a guy in our church who is Greek. One time he was telling me how JW's called on him and he pulled them up over John 1:1.
They went on about the grammar etc. He said their grammar was totally wrong. He showed scriptures were they had ignored the same grammar they based John !:1 on.
In the end one of the JW's says "We have Bible scholars who cleared this. Any what do you know about Greek grammar"
He said he just leaned forward and said "Because I am Greek- and I say no way that John 1:1 can be translated the way you do it"
Picture two JW's visibly shrinking and becoming at a loss for words.

Has anyone else that is df'd ever gotten one?
Never mind is you were DF'd.
I stopped attending meetings August 1999, but didn't get a visit from Elders till September 2001. There was nothing in between those dates. No visit, no phone call, not even a Memorial invite pushed through the door.
And when they did call it was part of a campaign to get inactive ones back because of falling numbers. So Ithought if I'm just there to make up the numbers forget it. So I disassociated.
So much for their "loving care" it lost them a member.

Do you recall your "point of no return"?

In 1997 even though things that had happend to me I still hung on as a JW.
Then one day I was in local library and spotted a book called "Awake to the Watchtower" I picked it up thinking "one of those books telling lies" . But something in it caught my attention and I started reading. I sat there for next two hours and read the whole book. I then moved on to the computers they had in library and the internet. Found the Freeminds site download stuff. Then for next 2 years researched everything. Read both Ray Franz books.
Then sitting in Kingdom Hall August 1999, at Service meeting it hit me. "I no longer believed the Watchtower" it wasn't "I no longer believed in God" but "in the Watchtower". That was my last meeting.
Between August 1999 and when I DA'd in September 2001 I did not get one visit from the Elders, not even a phone call, considering two lived a 5 minute walk from my house. . They then called in Sept 2001,because they were having a campaign to get "inactive ones" back. I thought well if you only concerned about me making up numbers then forget it. That was the final proof they didn't care about people. Besides I'd become a Christian by then.

Will it mean that the "JW only" issue of the 15th will have four study articles in it to cover the coming month.
Will articles in it be used in the service meeting?
Bound volumes ...will they just do a bound volume for just the "JW only" issue or one that contains both issues.

Who ever imagined they would play the role of actor within the organization
by truthseeker inthe watchtower calls it "leading a double life".
we call it survival.. the watchtower demonizes those who "hide what they are".
we say "we are what we hide".

I agree with the remarks made.
Since I left I've had JW's, say to me they wish they could do the same. But they can't face losing wife, family, friends etc.
I knew a respected Elder (now dead) who would have left years ago. But he knew it would destroy his wife if he did.
I had doubts for many years beforehand, it contributed in the end to my depression.
Because you live a life you don't want to live.

Are you disfunctional after being a witness?
by Save My Soul inafter not embracing many of the key practices of the witnesses (since 1995), i find it hard to fit into society in some ways.
pre-generation change, i was reading the bible to justify celebrating my sons 3rd b-day.
i knew of the common examples cited by the society, but wanted more.

When I first left the JW's it was a bit difficult in the sense of going out and mixing with people. But now that has passed and i will go out on my own for a drink.
Birthdays etc. presented no problem, except in trying to remember them.
Christmas no problem in the sense that I don't do the tree and decoration thing, mainly because I can't be bothered.
I only have one big problem. Women.
I cannot relate to them.
I think its because my JW wife, of 22 years at the time, gave me no support through the time of my depression. She did not protest when the Elders told her I had to leave the family home. All she was worried about was her standing in the congregation.
Consequently I have found that I go on the "defensive" if a woman talks to me socially. I put a barrier up. I'm friendly but thats its.
I did try 2-3 years ago to have a relationship with a lady. But it didn't work out I just didn't feel right. I just felt that it would not work out, a could I trust her attitude.
Don't get me wrong I would love to meet someone. But there are two feelings I am battling. The distrust of women and that I am not good enough for anyone. Not much money and I carry a lot of baggage, as they say.
I suppose thats why I never bothered getting divorced yet.
Apart from my children who are still in contact with me. I have two sons who live with me. I also attend a church and go out quite often.
I can't expect my sons to always be around or keep me company.
I would like to meet someone. Its not just for the physical side of a relationship. But you do need someone to talk to, to go out with to enjoy things with.
I'm 56 in a couple of months so probably resigned to being on my own.
God don't I sound a sad old man (cue violins)
The Watchtower certainly messes peoples lives up in many ways.

Well, the Garden of Gethsemane was located at the foot of the Mount of Olives. The Bible says that Jesus is brought from Gethsemane TO Jerusalem, through the Kidron Valley. Would not the Romans already know who Jesus was?
No scripture says that it was the Romans came for Jesus it was the Jewish temple guard.
Matthew
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the peopleJohnSo Judas came to the grove, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
LukeAnd Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus
While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him,
MarkJust as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.
