Otherwise Engaged...

just a little breaking news:.

after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.

last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

the door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.

in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.

but, it is a diversion.

Especially about what do they do with the money!

I have pointed out to JW's that after 100+ years of preaching and the millions of pieces of literature printed. Just what does the ordinary man-in -the-street know about them?

Ask most people what they know about JW's and you get basically "No blood, No Christmas or birthdays, they knock on doors"

Is that the sum of 100+ years of preaching!!

Yet the Watchtower has its members believing the rest of the world is talking about them, that ministers of other religions are scared of them.

has anybody ever seen the article in the saturday evening post called "armageddon, inc"?

i can't post it due to copyright issues, but if you have access to a library or university archives, it is definitely worth it!

it was printed in 1940, but other than the references to the "judge" it reads like it was printed yesterday!

Someone went through my trash again and again!

today, i went to put the trash outside and i opened my garbage can, i can tell that someone has been going thru my trash, i did not like it.

it is not the first time.

it has been going on several times in the past few weeks.

Just an idea.

Put a portable motion sensor alarm near , on or in the bin. Maybe even taped to the underneath of the lid.

Then if anyone lifts the lid you will know.

my reaction: shock and awe (tm).

i was an elder and had just left bethel.

i didn't want to believe what i was reading especially from current and former elders.

I first looked at Freeminds which led me to here.

My first thought was "WOW!"

I couldn't read enough.

It made me realise that I had not gone through something unique to me. But other JW's had and were going through similar.

It became my door to the way out of the Watchtower.

What Did YOU Do At A Typical Witness "Get-Together"?

did you sing kingdumb songs, take turns reading the bible, play bible games or did you have "fun"

These were the last things we ever did at any kind of "get-together" as JW's

Whether they be small or large.

Even when we just had JW couples round for a meal or went to theirs, we never discussed anything "spiritual".

At larger gatherings no one ever suggested sing Kingdom songs or having a Bible quiz etc.

It was almost an unwritten rule at such occasions.

How do I deal with my hatred?

i know that thousands of you have gone through the same thing i'm facing but right now it doesn't help.

i know that some of you have faced much worse - losing family through the blood issue or having to deal with abuse and i know that in comparison my problems may seem not so severe but as bad as it sounds knowing all that just doesn't matter right now.. it started yesterday and there's no stopping it, the official shunning.

one member of the family right now will see the month end with me losing my sisters, brother and my mum.. i love them and i know that in a sense they are victims too but i just cannot reach them.
