new beginnings
by AMAN inhi everyone this is my first time to do any like send an email to strangers but from reading a lot of your comments i feel.
i can talk heres my history i joined the jws in the early 80s i was with them for about 4 yrs i was in centeral in dublin.
i left at about the time of john may and martin merryman and others although i couldnt fully accept thier rules when the split came it was easy for me to leave and now back to the present !

holy spirit and miracles
by inbetween ina thought, that came during last weeks wt study:.
jw believe, that any miraculous gift of the hs is gone in our time, since we have the complete, gods word.. on the other hand, they claim , hs serves them as teacher and remembrancer !.
but is this not also a miracle ?.

Shelby, what do you consider is the correct rendering for John 1:1? Matthew 1:23? Hebrews 1:3? 2 Corinthians 4:4? Colossians 1:15?
Do you consider there is a difference between mankind made 'in the image of God' Genesis 1:26-27 and Jesus who is 'the image of God', 'the exact imprint of His nature', 'the image of the invisible God' 2 Corinthians 4:4, Hebrews 1:3, Colossians 1:15?

Dreams of the Second Coming of Christ
by sacolton ini don't believe dreams have any divine meaning, but i had the most vivid dream last night and wondered if others have had dreams of the second coming of christ.
from what i remember, i was at work and there was a huge trumpet blast and the sky split in two with a bright light.
christ and all the angels appeared and i fell to my knees.

Hello JWN...excited to be a new member!

a tremendous amount of knowledge, wisdom, great debate, and lol humor, which is good for the soul.. i am not a jw, but the borg infected my family years ago, many are still trapped, and i have 2 big shot elders.. i became a huge opposer/apostate and had many a battle.
today we have learned to live in peace...live and let live.. recently, i decided to get up to date with everything jw... i often wonder why my family can't see or figure out the real truth.

Rich Man and Lazarus
by Ding ini have never understood the watchtower's explanation of the rich man and lazarus story jesus told in luke 16. of course, they don't believe jesus is talking about what happens in an "afterlife" after people die.. but from the watchtower's point of view:.
1. who are the five brothers?.
2. why can't lazarus go witness to them?
