for those who've had god put something "into your heart", please describe the experience.

leavingwt Thank you for the encouragement. I have not shut these people out and I do regularly listen to what they have to say. My wife has also made plans for our family to attend Easter services again, this year. (I'm not anti-theist or anti-religion.)

Excellent news all round :)

I feel you have quiet a good working knowledge of God in many respects. You are understanding of many of the themes in books like Galatians for example very well.

However, you need more Spirit experience! Sure, He can pop up where and when He likes but He also likes people to seek Him out. You can easily find Him in the hearts of those who have been born again. You will find the more of Him they have the more you will be drawn to them and the places they hang out.

the divine name brochure answers this on page 8. it says, "when it came to gods name, instead of putting the proper vowel signs around it, in most cases they put other vowel signs to remind the reader that he should say adho?nai.

You can't restore an original with a substitute word. It's no longer a "restoration".

I made the case for restoring "Yahweh" to a couple of JWs but they thought "jehovah" was a much better idea.

Moreover, they've made the word into a Talisman, of sorts, IMHO.

Faith in the WT make one a son of "jehovah".

Was it unmistakable?

On occasions, yes.

God speaks to me every day but it is not always unmistakable. I am far from an expert in the hearing department and all too often I am too busy with my own thing :(

However, for example on one morning in my bathroom His voice was so unmistakable that I told the Holy Spirit out loud to "just leave me alone" (that was toward the later part of my 20 year rebellion).

OK here's another example. I was at a prayer meeting around 4 years ago and someone had a prophetic vision of people with metal rings around their heads. As I had a headache which had come during in the meeting I deduced that was certainly for me and so I got some prayer.

A couple of months back I was at a different prayer meeting in a different place and I felt fine early on and then some heaviness coming on a little later. Then I found myself thinking about that word of the "metal ring around the head" given four years earlier. Anyhow, shortly afterwards a different person said they had a vision and I had a metal ring around my head. However, it had a crack in it. They said I had tried to take it off myself and actually hurt myself.

I know what this ring is, the Lord has been dealing with me regarding an issue over these years. In fact, I was first alerted to it the second time I set foot in church when a different person gave me a prophetic word of a chapter of the bible which was "for me", Mark 9. As I read it the Lord spoke to me about this issue.

Well there have been several other prophetic words now I think of it just relating to this one issue. However, the Lord does not only speak through the prophets but now in these days through the Spirit of His Son. In fact, everything is confirmed by the Spirit, even if they are prophetic words via a third party.

God is speaking to you, I have absolutely no doubt. However, there is a lot of other noise in the airwaves and you need to turn the dial in His direction.

Do something to start some two way dialogue. Open your bible and invite the Holy Spirit to come and talk. Go hang out with those Christian friends from your workplace. Check out their church some time. The Lord loves faith, I know that from experience!

You have all the framework in place, you understand it in your mind but you do not know it in your heart. You can only do that with some steps of faith and seeing how it turns out.

Drunk driving Brother claims Coke fermented in his stomach causing false reading! WHAT!

okay i few years ago in melbourne he blew over .05 when stopped by cops so he tells the congregation later that i qoute: "i wasn't drinking....the sugar in coke must have fermented in my stomach........" yeah sure bro!

whats dumber is that many "scientific" witnesses believed him!.

brotherdan Stephen, I apologize for my post. I can now see that it was just a bait for all the angry atheists to post their rage and not use biblical reasoning to come to a conclusion.

I was looking for CHRISTIAN reasonings. Not atheistic reasoning based on faulty human thinking. Go ahead and quote that sentence, I won't respond.

One needs to put the "for Christians" caveat in the thread title on this board unless you want a barrage of hate mail.

I have found some topics are not up for discussion, certainly certainly not in the way we want to discuss them. I questioned my Heavenly Father for too long on a particular topic and the feeling I had was to lay the issue aside which I did. I do not expect my children to question my wisdom and judgement so why should I act any differently?
