  thoughts on if they are headed to making this number symbolic while still stressing earthly hope?

  or simply leaving it as a literal number and claiming both groups gathered concurrently throughout time?

  Witnesses Now for Jesus Convention ...Oct. 15,16,17.

  i attended this convention for 3 yrs in the mid 80's...its been 20+ yrs already.. i googled ...and found a dozen websites for info...it is great to see the convention going strong.. .

  this convention and these people helped me understand the wt...and helped me to deal with my family with peace and love.... an amazing group of christ-like apostates....warm, friendly, non-judgemental...all about helping people get to freedom.. .

  please share any experience, thoughts, questions....-bh.

  as you may or may not be aware, i recently posted a thread regarding the relevancy of the name of our lord.

  in that thread, and one or two others, i mentioned the language of our lord... and thus, the accurate rendering of that name.

  Hello Shelby,

  I'll lay my cards on the table.

  I feel you are born again, I have seen enough of the Spirit in your posts and you obviously love the Lord. Thus you are my sister in Christ :)

  However, on the other hand there seems to be some echos of WT doctrines in your beliefs. This is not uncommon to born again exJWs and indeed, none of us see perfectly yet, myself included.

  Lastly, I find your posts plain difficult to read, partly because of lack of clarity in the formatting department. Case in point is your persistent use of "JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH".

  On this reoccurring point regarding "the name" I stand firm on Jesus. I have quoted many verses stating Jesus is THE name by which we are saved, is the name to call upon for healing, deliverance and indeed is the name above every name in heaven and on earth.

  Doesn't matter what language is one's native tongue, a child can call on the Jesus and He understands it.

  Disappointed by JW Visit

  okay, i wanted to know more about the jws, so i went to the website and filled in my name and other info.

  i was finally contacted, set up an appointment and visited.

  the first two people came and they were nice, but one of the fellows looked uptight and avoided eye contact.

  But these guys kept writing down my scriptural references and telling me they'd get back to me on them.

  On the third visit, they assured me they would check the scriptures and get back to me.

  In short, they read the book with me, asking all the questions that had predetermined answers -- and they were ill prepared to handle any questions that weren't in the book.

  That's an interesting point. I'll make a note of it here and we'll get back to you.

  I have had similar experiences ranging from older JWs to younger ones. However, before too long they all come up with "I'll get back to you" which means reading the WT publications for 'answers'.

  I was pulling my punches as it was because I really wanted to get the answers and wasn't interested in a debate.

  So what answers are you looking for? Answers to questions regarding the WT doctrine or biblical questions?

  IMHO, the former can never be answered, the WT theology is a maze in which you will soon get lost in and you will soon end up following the FDS to "paradise earth".

  If you are looking for biblical answers then firstly and foremost you need to ask the Holy Spirit John 14:26, John 15:26, 1 Corinthians 2:14 , 1 John 2:27

  Secondly, you can ask those who have the Spirit living within them John 14:15-21, 1 Corinthians 2:10 , 1 Corinthians 2:16

  So what questions do you have?

  a man dwayne miller, pastor, supposedly had his vocal cords ruined and for 3 years could barely talk, then this is an audio recording of him still barely able to talk, and he's talking about miracles and scripture of god healing, and his voice suddenly becomes restored.
