A "Funny" Thing Happened On the Road to Damascus...

To the Household of God, Israel, and those who go with... may you all have peace! As you may or may not be aware, I recently posted a thread regarding the relevancy of the name of our Lord. In that thread, and one or two others, I mentioned the language of our Lord... and thus, the accurate rendering of that name. Some dispute that name... as well as its importance. Okay. Even more so, they dispute how it is that I know it... and I professed, as I always do, that I received it from my Lord... and when he told it to me it was NOT "Jesus"... or even in English. That, too, was disputed.

Dear ones, I have never lied to you... nor have I deceived you. I have, however, stated to you that the words of our Lord has always been to me that "ALL things that I tell you are written... but not everything that is written is what I will tell you." In that light, I share with you now that although the name "Jesus" is written... it is NOT the name that he gave me. On the other hand, that he shares his name in the HEBREW/ARAMAIC form... which truth I told you... is written, albeit NOT in the inspired scriptures. Luke recorded the account, which was related by Paul... to Agrippa:

"... I was journeying to Damascus with authority and a commission from the chief priests, I saw at midday on the road, O king, a light beyond the brilliance of the sun flash from heaven about me and about those journeying with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground I heard a voice say to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? To keep kicking against the goads makes it hard for you.’ But I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am..., whom you are persecuting. "

What NAME did he give Paul, dear ones? "Jesus"? Surely not. "Jesus" is an English name... taken from the Latin... "He Zeus." "Ieosus"? No, for "Ieosus" is a GREEK name. And while some might argue that it is the Greek equivalent of our Lord's name... the account does not state that he spoke... in GREEK. The record states that he spoke to Paul... in Hebrew (Aramaic).

Why did he speak to Paul in Hebrew/Aramaic? Perhaps because Paul didn't speak Greek? No, because Greek was the common language at the time, dear ones. The Jews spoke Hebrew... AND/OR Greek. (Acts 6:1). So, Paul knew Greek... as well as Hebrew/Aramaic (as well as the language of the early Roman empire, "Latin," which was also spoken during the time - because he was a Roman).

Our Lord spoke to Paul in Hebrew/Aramaic... because that was HIS language. And he told Paul HIS name... AS that name IS... in Hebrew/Aramaic. And it is the name that he has told to me... JAHESHUA... because it is the name of the "One"... who comes in the NAME... of JAH.

May those who wish be given ears to hear... so that they, too, may say:

"BLESSED... is HE... who comes in the NAME... of JAH"...

and that they too may hear the Spirit... and the Bride... when they say:

    "Come! Take 'life's water'... FREE!"

For the prophecy is that all who HEAR... will SAY... "Come!"

    "COME!"

Servant to the Household of God, Israel, and a slave of Christ,

Dear ones, I have never lied to you... nor have I deceived you.

Of course what you say is disputed...just because you say something does not make it so.

Frankly, who cares whether it was hebrew or greek? for that matter, every single name in the entire bible is up for grabs re translation from aramic, hebrew or greek. i would hazzard a guess that none are translated right into english, including Jesus,Luke, paul/saul and agrippa...

nobody knows who was talking to who about who really!

    Thanks Shelby,

it makes sense to me, I have close relatives whose first language is not English, (truth to tell my wife struggles with English and it is her first language LOL) so they sometimes address me by the form of my name in their language, I do not find this offensive, but I am more comfortable when they address me by the diminutive of my name in English, it is what I am used to.

I always try to call people by the name they are happy to be known by, I do not change it to suit me.

It makes sense that I should give The Lord Jaheshua the same courtesy.

Could you confirm please that I am correct in my thought that ,when spoken, the "J" would sound more like the English "Y" ?

    Did Jesus have slaves?

Did Jesus consider his disciples as his slaves?

Does the Bible make any mention that Jesus made people bond themselves into servitude for his own purposes?

Were there no emancipation laws then?

Did the rest of the Jews own slaves or was Jesus unique in this social stigma?

You are correct, dear Wobble... and the greatest of love and peace to you, dear one!

    Did Jesus have slaves?

Did my Lord, JAHESHUA, have slaves, dear cameo-d (fancy seeing YOU here, I mean, in light of your recent comments and all... and peace to you!)? No, he did not... not as you are intimating (i.e., those "bound" to him). Does he now? Yes, he does.

Did Jesus consider his disciples slaves?

Did my Lord, JAHESHUA, consider his disciples slaves? At one time, he called them such, yes. After a point, no. Did/does his disciples consider themselves his slaves? Yes. Then... and now.

Does the Bible make any mention that Jesus made people bond themselves into servitude for his own purposes?

Did my Lord, JAHESHUA, do so? Absolutely not! Did people bind themselves to HIM... anyway? Yes. As did angels:

"All I am is a fellow slave of you and your brothers..."

Were there no emancipation laws then?

Ooohh... be careful, dear one. Mighty big word, there. Sure you know what it means? Oh, and "slave" with regard to Christ, merely means "servant" by today's terms. So, no ships, chains, or auction blocks involved. Well, not the kind you might think you know of (you know, what with your high falutin' vocabulary and all...)...

Did the rest of the Jews own slaves or was Jesus unique in this social stigma?

I am sure the rest did, both lawfully (i.e., employees)... and unlawfully (i.e., ownership). My Lord, however, neither employed nor owned anyone. He simply said, "Follow me," or "Come after me,"... and they did. Much like we do today.

I hope this helps... though I would advise you to keep a tissue handy (you know, to ward off any nosebleeds that might result from those "high" sounding words you might try to use).

    Peace!

    A slave of Christ,

    Hello Shelby,

I'll lay my cards on the table.

I feel you are born again, I have seen enough of the Spirit in your posts and you obviously love the Lord. Thus you are my sister in Christ :)

However, on the other hand there seems to be some echos of WT doctrines in your beliefs. This is not uncommon to born again exJWs and indeed, none of us see perfectly yet, myself included.

Lastly, I find your posts plain difficult to read, partly because of lack of clarity in the formatting department. Case in point is your persistent use of "JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH".

On this reoccurring point regarding "the name" I stand firm on Jesus. I have quoted many verses stating Jesus is THE name by which we are saved, is the name to call upon for healing, deliverance and indeed is the name above every name in heaven and on earth.

Doesn't matter what language is one's native tongue, a child can call on the Jesus and He understands it.

    Blessings in Christ,

    Stephen

That was another nice, loooong, post there AGuest. I'd like to say I read it, but I'd be lying because I didn't. I don't have to. You're a freakin nutcase, a self-aggrandising egomaniac with delusions of self-grandeur. You're coo-coo for cocoa puffs, you're a fruit loop without the milk.

You need to find yourself a nice padded cell with some nice men in white coats that can administer you some tasty Lithium, cause you need it. The voices in your head that you claim to be from YHWH God? That's your psyche slowly cracking your personality from within.

In short, you're a loon - get some help.

The ruse of the Bible and Christianity is that the Christ was a historical figure, a man of flesh and blood that we must "serve", "worship", "submit to", "accept as Lord and Savior", blah blah blah. This is impossible to do and would mean nothing even if you could. It is chasing after the wind. Jesus' message was that the Christ, the Kingdom, is WITHIN you. Taken to the next level, that means the Christ is a consciousness, a connected energy within all people, lying dormant and asleep for lack of awareness that it resides there. But when we do become aware of this fact, we will then become a servant, not to an external Master, but to the belongings of the Master, the entire human family.

Seeing the Christ in others rather than judging them is one of the most challenging things we face in this world today, but that is our task at hand.
