its easy too criticize a religion.any person can do that.trash talking isnt accepted that well amongst the majority of people.why not find something better too offer people.now that would be a better thing too do.this board will probably fizzle out after a while.

lucid dream, wicked spirits, demons questions!!

having a chinese background, it has been incorporated in our culture to believe in wicked spirits and that sort of stuff..i was wondering if any here could enlighten me with some of their knowledge with regard this subject..my mom's core reason of believing that the jws are the true religion is because of the fact that she found peace and she said that 'wicked spirits' stopped attacking her when she became a jw..(she said that sometimes she felt that wicked spirits want to rape her or something while she was sleeping/dreaming?

)i sometimes think that this is pure imagination but who am i to judge it is her experience anyways..some say that this may be a medical problem but do any of you believe that this might be true?

do wicked spirits/demons really want to 'disturb' us humans?

thanks intro..i think what u said is true...the thing is that my mom wouldn't admit that most of what's happening to her is psychological..not only in terms of this dreaming but also when it comes to being sick..i think she's quite paranoid..but as always she tells me that i can't feel/know what she's going through..

about lucid dreaming - thanks for clearing that up to me..i just remember a friend telling me about it

it's funny how 2 hours can make you question the doubts you've had for months.

just got home from the hall after speaking with an elder... had a friendly chat about my doubts... finally culminating in my admitting that i didn't believe the discreet slave really existed, and that all my jw beliefs were non-existent.

2 hours.

hey fed up im in this same situation right now.. haven't talked with the elders but talked with a quite open minded 'sis' who my mom invited to talk with me...i didnt present evidence whatsoever i just asked questions and of course told her about the un thing...i really dont know if they will listen enough to you but what i can tell you is nothing's enough if they really believe in that..i dont care about what they think i only care about what my mom thinks and after hours of arguing with her....i have found out that the problem is where else to go if not here...where to worship.....
the funny thing here is after talking with 'jw' i tried telling myself not to have a bias against the jw because of the stuff i read...but it is hard to be objective when faced with facts about the org..so now im trying to read the bible too
i'm going through a crisis too..i can't even pray i mean..who do i pray to now? is it Jah, is it Jesus? i mean if i pray to Jah means that this org teaches right (coz i think it's one of the few which teaches to use that name)so meaning what i'm doing now is wrong so there CONFUSION.
well i hope it helps that someone is pretty much in the same situation as you are....you're not alone

does proving a negative mean that there's a positive? maybe coz a thing may be called negative if there's a positive aspect that it is opposite to....

sirona - i'll try to do that but i dont want to give her any ideas anymore coz i think this experience of hers has actually mellowed down

most tend to feel that spirits are just a figment of one's imagination but it can also be otherwise...what we experience we try to find an explanation for and as many her say through reason and not just equating it to some spirit or something but this might also speak of something in us..maybe we're just too freaked to find out that there's that other realm so we tend to rationalize things...
