  How did you REALLY feel when you where out in field service?

  i never felt comfortable knocking on door and i hoped no one would be home.

  my presentation was short and to the point because i did not want to get into discussions.

  as we walked from "door to door" i secretly wished i could be like all the ones i saw in the nighborhood.

  White Dove: I did the same thing, picked out territory that no one I new lived in. It was a deep sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when you ran into someone you knew. I was never proud to be a JW. It was more something that I had to do or was made to do. AT DC and Circuit Ass they would give talks about Jehovah is a happy god and so his people should be happy. It just made me feel worse whwn they said that because being a JW made me very unhappy.

  I have been out almost 2 years now and I can actually say, Yes, Iam happy.

  Yes, I have noticed it is going to be a bad year for ants. It can be a struggle to get rid of those pests.

  I never felt comfortable knocking on door and I hoped no one would be home. My presentation was short and to the point because I did not want to get into discussions. As we walked from "door to door" I secretly wished I could be like all the ones I saw in the nighborhood. They where gardening, playing ball with thier children, packing up ther car to go somewhere as a family. JW's have time stolen from them by the society. You are told the knocking on doors is a very important work. In fact, it is life saving. I never felt that way. It just made me depressed,anxious and edventually angry.

  Fern, funny you should mention that because my husband and I use to say the same thing. We had many overweight ones in our hall, quite a few tipped the scale at 300 pounds and one was 400 plus pounds. Yes, gluttony in deed. I wonder if they where jealous because we could move freely,felt good physically and my husband looked great. He is tall(6'3'') and slender.

  This site has benn wonderful. There are so many posters who are very supportive. Only another xjw can understand what we have been through and continue to struggle with.

  Lavender, take a good hard look at any JW you may come across and ask yourself one question, Do they look happy? For the most part they are little drones, robotic like movements. They have no life outside the organization because the WTS (cult) is their life. I love to garden and was counciled not to get side tracked by it. Yes, a garden is nice but do not let anything interfer with your service to Jehovah. We where always told to examine ourselves, our circumstances ,and ask ourselves one question, "Are you doing all that you can in your service to Jehovah, is it whole souled?"

  I use to go to the gym quite often(nearly everyday) and got in trouble for that. I should have put some of that ttime in field service is what I was told. They where not happy with my response. I basically told them to go pound sand.

  The WTS does not like the internet. They say to guard against it. I think they would frown uopn it. Anything that takes you away from studing all the publications, field service,meeting attendence and personal prayer are advised against. I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I were counciled because we liked athletics. My husband is an avid runner (nationally ranked when he was in college) and like to get in an occasional race. You can guess how unhappy they were. It was bad for the congregation, may stumble someone. We did not tell people our business but people would see the race results in the paper, or see him on TV.

  she made another comment on the view that the jw's believe only that 144,000 will go to heaven, in her own way she is definitely getting the word out that the dubs are totally off the wall.

  so whoopi gives her that wtf comment like, how do you know you're one of the chosen?.

  i remember when she mentioned she had to go before the elders when she was a teen for sexual conduct and had these grown men questioning her about all the "details" and her father just sat their just looking down and keeping quiet, i remember the audience actually gasped when she relayed that story.. keep up the good work sister sherry, with all the people that watch the show, she's definitely gettin' the word out they are total nutjobs !

  is there a hell or not?

  the bible talks about hell, jesus spoke of burning in hell, but the witness claim there is no hell......can someone please explain their reasoning...same with heaven..

  I do not believe in a hell. I have been exploring and reading everything I can get my hand on since I walked away from the cult. I do not believe in formalized(manmade religion). Man taints everything he touches.
