if they make announcement in the kh that person is no longer a jw, do they treat them as disfellowshipped?

they made annoucement for my friend that is no longer a jw, his girflfriend invited me to go bowling.

i told her that i cannot do that because since i am a fader and i do not want to get caught since i have jw family ties.

This is what I would do.

Go out with them. If you get caught, play dumb and act like you thought he was inactive you were trying to encourage him AND his wife. lol, I really bet you'd get away with it!

what a flurry of interesting topics on jwn lately!

my oh my.. i haven't posted in the last few days... nor read the forum.. this last week i was back east visiting friends in the troof.. lucky for me it was assembly time, so packing and going to.

natick assembly hall (boston, ma), and caught the sunday.

I actually always loved Everett and Pam. But, I never knew any of the inside stuff he did. When I first met him I was just a little kid and adored him! Now I'm all grown up and when I had my baby he wanted me to name him after him, lol. I had to tell him I was having a girl, lol. He did hold her after I had her and was really good with her.

He had always been my favorite. It's really sad and weird to hear these things about him.

cases the WT has had to settle

I thought only under 20 cases or so had been settled? Anybody have more info about cases that were settled reaching into the thousands

The thing is, I don't know you. I don't know if you were one of the elders who said I was partly to blame for the severe abuse I went through. I don't know if you were that elder who said if I had lived in a different time period I would have been stoned to death due to committing fornication. I don't know if you were the elder who did much worse things then what I just mentioned. Honestly, ive never gotten an apology and the closest thing I've gotten to it is you apologizing. I've held a heavy weight in my heart towards elders. Do I forgive you? No. That's my honest answer. My grudge is so deep and it was the one promise I made to myself when I was 12 years old. Not to forgive because once you forgive you open your heart to once again go through such massive pain that you can't bare to be within your own skin. Thank you for opening the door to the start of the process of forgiveness. Nobody has ever apologized so it never occurred to me to try. Thank you.

Shouldn't the 1,000 yr reign have already started in 1914?

i asked my dad that years ago and he said that it wouldn't start until the new system comes.

does this not make sense to anybody else?

i thought it would have started when jesus came back whicj was supposedly in 1914... .

To JW's there is the Presence (parasoia) which began in 1914 when (according to JW doctrine) Jesus gave Satan the boot, and began to "rule in the midst of his enemies" (kind of have to ignore that whole "rule" word huh?)

And then there is the COMING (erchomai) when Jesus actualy begins his rule.

They use the NT's allusion to the "days of Noah" as proof for this.

The presence was equated with the warning era when Noah was building the ARK, and then the Coming is equated with the rain and the flood.

According to JW we are in the midst of the parasoia....

When Jesus's COMING (erchomai) arrives then is when he starts officially ruling.

I think I'm gonna need a few caffeine pills if I'm gonna try and figure out this logic, lol.

Honestly, I rarely see spankings in the kh anymore. I think JW parents, at least from what I've seen, don't spank as much. And I've been to about 8 halls or so in the last 8-10 years. There is much complaint about the backrooms being used as playrooms but parents don't seem to care much.

15 or 20 years ago there were tons of spankings. I'm glad to see JW parents are much better in that area...

The way they explained it was that although he was put on the throne in 1914, he wouldn’t start reigning until Armageddon was over.

Then he would start his 1000 year reign.

That was what was told to me also. Problem is, how can Jesus start his 1,000 year reign when the new system starts and also in 1914? I never really got there reasoning for that...
