Here is a thread Runningman wrote several years ago, statisticly showing that the majority of the 144,000 still alive today are bogus.
Numbers don't lie folks, Insurance comanies make their fortunes off these numbers and are based on factual mortality rates.

The numbers today are probably closer to 90% bogus, would love to see an update to this.

If 144,000 is to be understood as literal, then in Rev 14:4 where it says: "These are the ones that did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins."
Should that not be literal also? All of those claiming to be of the 144,000 that I ever met, were NOT virgins. Well maybe Fred Franz might have been.

It is a given that we would not want anyone else to express personal information about us either, especially if it is done without our knowledge and without our consent......
i'd vote for revelation since every nutcase who ever came down the pike has tackled it verse for verse and applied it to the time in which he was living.

I tend to agree with Revelation, it has fueled all the "end of times" nuts since it was written.
I would nominate Jeremiah because of the continued confusion over the seventy years for Judah as to whether it refers to a period of desolation of the land or servitude to Babylon and the related chronology.
Maybe for the WTS's or YOUR world...., it can be "most troubling" to have to keep lying to yourself every day. Yes, Jeremiah has caused much trouble for the WTS, but the WORLD? Don't think so.

I'd like to know more about Da Judge's family.
How about this. Two of Da Judge's sisters married Judges. Of course they were not a "special" Judge like Rutherford. They were of the "real" sort. I also believe that his cousin married another judge, but have not been able to prove the genological link to Rutherford's mother yet. She had the same last name as Joseph's mothers (Strickland) and there were not very many people in the county with that last name. She married a Judge named William Bowen who came to Missouri from Kentucky. Just think, if she is related to J.F. Rutherford's mother and he to some other Bowen's from KY, Bill Bowen could be related to J.F. Rutherford by marriage. This is all speculation, until I can prove the link between Martha Strickland who married Judge Bowen and Leanora Strickland (J.F. Rutherfords mother). However his two older sisters marriage to Judges is factual and provable.

but absent always was his wife, mary, not to mention his son, malcolm as well.. ok, rutherford was so well known, why did no one inquire about his son and wife?.
when rutherford resided at beth sarim in san diego, why was his wife not there with him?
the Rutherfords had one last son, Berkie (sp?), who was aged 4 at the time of the census. No other occupation was given for the other children, except for William who was stated as "works on farm".
Joe's younger brother was known as Bertie who died at a young age. It has been reported that his older bother William moved to Kansas City Missouri. His mother lived in Morgan county until her death and is burried in the Freedom Baptist cemetery. William was disfellowshiped from the baptist church in 1885 when he was 20 for dancing.

Later, Rutherford filled in for a judge total of four (4) days. Some days he filled in there wasn't even any cases. From that little experience he took on the title "Judge" which he used the rest of his life. (Does the word "Pompose" come to mind?)
I just love how the WTS, obscures that fact in their history book by calling him a "Special Judge" What exactly is a "Special Judge"? Does that mean he got to wear one of those funny looking helmets?
