  Would you condone abortion?

  today i questioned my mother about the fact that she told me ?

  yrs ago how she lost 2 kids through a miscarriage but then later told me she aborted them,well i didnt know what to say, but then later questioned her about this i asked her why she did it, she told me that she was already bringing up me and my sister and financialy impossible to look after two more kids,well i didnt agree with that reason or any reason to kill the unborn she then said she wasnt in the truth then "huh what difference does that make".

  then she gave an illustration of reasons when you should condone abortion and it goes like this, if you were raped and later found out you were pregnant what would you do she seemed to say she would abort it,i said i wouldnt if that happened to my wife i said i would probably end up having it adopted,after all its better than murder.. how has this affected my familys view on abortion i wonder, well i have 5 sisters and 1 more brother,and already my brother in cold blood made his girlfriend abort hers due to the inconvienience,and also my older sister had hers aborted 2 yrs ago because the father didnt want to know with out a hint of regret,so im now starting to see a pattern in my family,whos to blame them or my mother as a role model.. so to cut a long story short do you think killing an unborn child is murder,would you do it under certain scenarios.

  Without expressing my viewpoint, I happen to think the logic used by Xander (nothing personal dear friend) is flawed.

  You tried to make an argument that just because a sperm cell and an egg unite....whats the big deal? What the difference between them after vs. before....

  If we are to use your logic...and say NOTHING...then the answer stays nothing and we should be able to kill anyone because it is an arbitrary decision from that point forwards, isn't it?

  Some would say after 3 months.....then no abortion. Why? And how can you generalize in this manner? Some "babies" mature at different rates than others...

  All the arguments on both sides of the debate are useless. They will never be resolved to the satisfaction of either side since each side has totally different (note I said different not opposing) viewpoints.

  Why not argue about euthanasia instead?

  ALL Time FAVORITE Vacation Spot?

  as the summer nears it's end and the parents hurry up to get the kiddies ready for back to school, i think of: "what get-away will i plan for next year?

  " i didn't get to vacation this year but will most likely be vacationing somewhere far away from texas next summer.

  any favorite vacation spots you might recommend?

  me and my pioneer partner used to play a game while going door to door (we were obviously bored).

  in our rural territory, we had a lot of time between doors to make things up, so various games evolved.

  just about the naughtiest was to give your partner a word which they had to use at all costs in their presentation.. this started out as 'kingdom' and 'jesus' but soon became 'tractor', 'dog' and then even 'honda 250' and so on.

  i thought i'd hit it several times before...as i have been thru the divorce over the past couple of years...lost all my so-called friends...lost my belief in what i thought was the "truth"....and now my own loving daughter, being the good little dub she is has told me she doesn't want me to walk her down the aisle at her wedding.

  she told me today at lunch.

  i left after '75 and i haven't touched a bible since, so i'm really not sure as to the answer to this.

  when i was a kid, i seem to remember dinosaurs on the inside cover of my bible.

  Why did god create germs?

  if there is a god who crested us , then why did he create germs , viruses ans other such things that harm and kill us?why also are there no instructions about these things in the bible, and don't give me that mosaic law crap, where does it mention for example boiling water or spreading germs through human contact, the most important things you can do agianst catching nasty dieseases?edited by - sleepy on 9 august 2002 9:4:21.

  Opinion: Federal Sales Tax

  why not replace the income tax with a federal sales tax?

  i see several advantages to this.

  it would eliminate the expense of the internal revenue service.
