Yes, this was the case in both my last two congos. I don't know the logistics but it is definitely a new thing. I think it's been happening for I would guess 4 years? I think the turnaround is one or two years? Let me check it up again.

disfellowshiped jw's relationship
by vat152 inhi all i'm new to this so be patient with me please.. i'm not a jw and never will be but my partner is although she was disfelllowshiped some years ago for adultry with someone other than me which jed to a divorce from her husband (who is still a jw), this happpened about 8 years ago, she then went into a relationship which turned violent and abusive, this ended a couple of years ago.. i met her just over 12 months ago and fell head over heals in love with her and i have proposed to her and we are due to be married in july this year, we have a good relationship except for one thing, the bedroom activities.
she tells me that it makes her feel dirty and cheap and refuses to put her arms around me unless i am covered up with clothes or the quilt, any type of skin contact is a no no, we do occassionaly make love but she hates it.. the thing i want to clear up is this, she is devout about the religion and the wt although she doesn't attend any meetings.
i am led to believe that if a disfellowshiped jw shows repent they are allowed back into the kingdom hall, i know that she would like to be allowed back into the religion, do you think that she is trying to show repent by not making any skin contact with me whilst we are out of wedlock?.

Hey Vat
One thing I really want to stress to you. If you want this to work, you need to STOP the outright criticisms of the JWs. Every JW is trained to believe that these criticisms only further prove that the religion is TRUE. I know it may be tempting and easy to take cheap shots, but trust me when I say YOU ARE DOING MORE HARM THAN GOOD. You will only widen the gap in your relationship. There are much better and more clever ways to handle this. You need to do some research, get your facts about the religion, know what you're up against. I would suggest showing your partner that you are open-minded about JW's and avoid direct criticism from now on.
I am convinced that your partner's sexual problems are a result of her rape and previous relationship. I think there are always some people who view sex as dirty, but I don't believe this is a great deal more prevalent among witnesses than other religions. Plenty of JWs have fantastic sex lives.
Your partner needs counselling BIG TIME. The JW's used to have an attitude toward psychologists, but this has changed a lot recently, and in fact many elders openly encourage counselling. I am an active JW so I've seen this myself recently.
I admire the fact that you are willing to stick by her when she has obvious sexual issues. *Sigh* True love in my opinion. You're a good guy. :-)

The PO position has been on a rotation system for a few years already though... can't be that.. unless it's different in some countries.

Stuck in the "Truth"
by IMustBreakAway ini notice from comments posted that many here who post (and untold scores who lurk) are still "in".
perhaps their social / family circles are too constricted for freedom of mind, and or, they are too afraid to rock the boat.
or too young to strike out on their own and are dependent on jw parents for support.

Red hats . . LMAO Make it pink heels and you got a deal.. haha
Ahhh IMBA.. I hear you on not being able to connect.. I've had to totally pull back from my JW friendships.. And I hate having to make weak attempts to disguise myself on JWD too! ;-)
I recently read a post here and the person mentioned they were from right near where I live, I would love to PM them but I'm too chicken!
What has really been awesome is reading experiences on JWD similar to my own, I've contacted a couple of these people, and now have a little handful of friends I'm emailing. People I can "tell all" to. That's been really cool.

Courting couples in the JW having sex together before marriage?
by chikikie ini left about 8 years ago, at the grand old age of 24, basically being an unmarried mum of 1 (baptised when my girl was 11months old) and the 'tipping point for me' when elder sisters tried to set me up for marriage to a 64year old elder, as that would be the only man willing to marry a girl such as myself.
i ran away, i moved 300miles away.
there should be a witness pretection programme ;).

Over the years I worked out that there are very few couples who didn't at least get involved in "heavy petting" (lifting large pussycats LOL) while they were going out - and that includes even the real spiritual ones. According to an elder friend of mine, heaps of dating witness couples get into oral sex too.

Is True Religion Possible?
by R.Crusoe inconsidering any religious presumption to be that we have fallen from perfection, is it realistic to expect an imperfect memeber of our speceis to fare any better than a perfect one who failed initially?.
considering the often added feature of multiple deceptions and the rampant claim of an evil superpower who tricks what we see as truth in an angel of light format, can it seriously be expected that we have the mental wherewithall to accurately decipher truth from lies and also cope with all our biological urges often branded evil?.
or is the truth that our biology is perfectly natural and our preoccupation with 'holy' in fact even dirties natural and beautiful gifts?

This was something I was looking into last night actually. I googled world religions - only a third of the world's population is Christian. Over 20% are Islamic. Another 20% are Hindu and Buddhist. If the Bible is God's word, why wouldn't he have made sure it was readily available in all cultures? Instead we're seeing many countries with almost no Christian influence whatsoever.
So let's take the example of a Muslim woman, raised in Afghanistan, a 99% Muslim country. Every person she knows is Muslim. Every member of her family is Muslim. What are the odds of her embracing Christianity? But if she doesn't, she's gonna die too. And thousands like her.
Hmmm. -

Some great points Mr Crusoe. :-)
I especially like your point about the "angel of light" situation.. as you say, how can we as imperfect fleshly beings, ever hope to have the superior intelligence needed to see through the tricks of a superpower who can make himself appear as an angel? Is this what's expected of us? I have studied the Bible deeply all my life, and I'm convinced I could study it for a lifetime more and still not have the answers. And what about people in countries that have limited education systems, or limited access to the Bible - how are these ones expected to work out where truth is? Bible scholars can't even agree on a standard interpretation of the Bible. But if I, as a mere mortal of average intelligence, don't work it out in time, I'll be struck dead at Armageddon.
Is this sounding unfair to anyone else? -

Anyone know the rules on JW's and Tattoo's????
by superman ini'm an inactive fader (only fading and not da'd for the sake of my family) but i still have all of my privileges and haven't done anything (that the hounders know about) that would get me df'd.
however, a fews years ago before i was baptized i got a few tattoos.
i want to get some new ones and get a some of my old ones touched up.

In a conversation about tattoos recently, an elder told me that the elders had received either a letter or notification through the CO about 12 months ago stating that tattoos are not to be a cause for reproof or discipline, and that apparently the scripture in Leviticus 19:28, "..you must not make cuts in your flesh for a deceased soul, and you must not put a tattoo marking upon yourselves..." - is speaking of tattoos used in religious worship only.
So he told me there's no scriptural basis for discipline, but the letter/notification pointed out that it would "give an indication of that person's spirituality." Not sure what that means considering there's no scriptural issue with it, but there you go.
