why dis-associate, you are just playing by the wts rules?
how can you dis-associate anyway, you never thought you were baptised as a watchtower society member, you thought your dedication was to god, so why formally disassociate from something you did not formally join?
Viva, I too skipped the dedication in prayer. Noone really told me about it at the time, it was only later that I realised. :-) I WAS only 16.
I do know of two people that annulled their baptism. One was an older guy who was baptised way way back, and the other a 20 something chick. I have no idea what they used to get out of it. Would love to hear of a success story, and how they did it....

I wonder if you could get away with approaching the guy and pretending you hadn't heard the 1975 date before? Ask him where he heard it, and whether there's any basis to it. See if you can return visit with the old quotes you "came across".. :-)
usually we marry someone we know and love as a person.
my marriage 20 years broke up after i began to question my faith in the wt my wife was so fearfull.
so was i: i did not want to believe that i had been deceived but i could not deny what i learnt and continue to live a lie in the so called truth.
It was the religion that made me realise I had no choice but to leave my marriage. Everytime I raised my doubts, I became the enemy. In my opinion, there's no way you can stay in marriage like that. Perhaps if I'd had a more open minded partner, it might have been different. I don't believe it's any reflection on that person. It's just a sad symptom of the mind control.

The reference is at 7:45. He says, "Rutherford replaced Charles Taze Russell, who was an alcoholic, and also ran a brothel." Confusing, but it seems he must have meant Rutherford. Rutherford was president till 1942, I wonder if Barbara Harrison was referring to this time. Either way, these guys seem to have more information than is provided in Visions of Glory, the fact that they name Rutherford specifically for a start. There doesn't seem to be anything further on their site (someone went crazy with the CAPS LOCK and underlining )

i had a question i was wondering if anyone could help me with?
i've heard from past posters who have had to go through the nightmare of a judicial committee, and the elders made them go into minute detail about what did or didn't happen regarding sexual matters.
my question is, is there someplace in the printed literature that describes the questions that should be asked by the committee?

me and my friend cameo'd have a condition known as "armagedon junky".....we enjoy speculating on catastrophies ending the world...yes we are ex-witnesses with a problem, we love the thrill of doom.
it was taught to us as kids and we still do it now.. the last few months we brought you "yellowstone park is about to blow"......."foxnews = solar flare will end life"..."mass desease epidemics".....sorry my friend cameo but me and you need to check into a clinic to stop scaring people....but i have to say it was fun for some reason, the thought of throwing it out there to accidentally predict something apeals to me..
Ha. This is so true. My favourite movies have always been the armageddon type ones. I never related that to being raised a witness.
i try to attend about 3 sunday meetings per month just to keep my whole family from disowning me.
every week the meetings become more difficult to attend.. the singing is awful,the prayers are all about the ''faithful and discreet slave''.the talks are boring and repetative.the watchtower study reminds of trained seals at the zoo where they do the same tricks over and over just so they can get their treat of fresh fish.
the answers are short and read off the watchtower magazine word for word.
Up until just recently I was still having to go along to the meetings for other reasons, so what I would do is drop in to the pub next door for a quick pint of beer before rocking up at half time and spending the remaining time making toilet breaks or trying to distract the brothers with my low top. haha Oh dear, I really am wicked, aren't I? :-)
i live in the northeast and regularly hear people say they want to move far away, like florida where it's warmer.. i hear people complain about the taxes in their state and how they wish they could live elsewhere.. would you leave your area if you could?
