Can Good Exist Without Evil??

the laws of physics tell us that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

good and evil are equal and opposites of the same concept.

I don't think good can exist without evil.

Ofcourse it can! If there is no cold water hot water will still burn you. Maybe you won't call it "hot" but still it is. What is good and what is evil? For most people evil is defined as going against their will or purpose, their sense of "right". Now this is really arbritrairy as what to some seem right or good may see to another bad or evil. Claiming that good cannot exist without evil is nonsense.

Now your other point is more interesting:

Will there be a stagnation of creativity is one would remove all evil?

Mankinds creativity thrives on problem solving. Without real urgent problems advances in say, technology would be much slower indeed. During war time a lot of new inventions come up, mostly geared to solving problems like: how can I kill alot of people as efficiently as possible? But some are useful in daily life. So yes, some stagnation will occur but it will not kill creativity, it will slow it down and shift its goals mostly.Greven

i was talking to a witness who is still in and she said they gave a talk at the hall, about submissive wives and were told that if the husband wants to go somewhere for the holiday and the wife want to go somewhere else she will need to be respectful and do what the husband wants.

and she can go on her prefered choice of holiday the following year...... .

the husband is to make all major decisions such as where they will .

now, the first time i saw him, he had 5 toes, two of which were black as coal.

for those who still go to the mettings once in a while, did you notice if the elder visits to inactive ones is paying off?

are some coming back to the hall?

have they mentioned a couple of names of people who have decided to quit for good?

I have one elder in my congregation that was reproved 3 times and disfellowshipped twice for the same offence (when he dated girls he had a tendency to go to far). Soon (3 months) after he got reinstated he got himself appointed servant, and after about 6 months became elder (just like his daddy). This guy should tell me how to live?! Gimme a break!

Some of the elders in my congregation seem educated, but when you scratch the surface by asking questions you will find them to be empty shells. Alot of it is pretending to be righteous, and educated. When I started asking really interesting questions involving dicrepancies in their litterature they replied by claiming I study with the wrong intentions, I should let the holy spirit 'guide' me in my search for truth, my motivation was wrong etc etc. The best part I think is when they hurl texts at you, just sit back and say you want to read the context as well, usually they take it out of context, confronting them with this is very satisfying. Anyway, the result was that they could not pin me down on anything yet, and they refuse to consider my investigation findings as long as I study with the wrong attitude. I should study with the intention of conforming our religion rather than finding fault . They leave me alone for now, and that suits me just fine.

interestingly, the article wants to lay the root of all mankind's troubles to adam: "while generations of adam's offspring are not responsible for adam's sin, they nevertheless are all born with sin, imperfection, and death as their inherited lot.

" we are further told that adam & eve's sin did not originate in their genes.

Human behaviour is a combination of genes, culture, religion, upbringing and countless other outside influences. Never ever can you take genes out of the mix. However I think that indeed you can not blame everything on genes only and that one has to take responsibility for his / her's actions.

In my congregation there is not much change. I have noted though that as soon as I show my nose in there they jump me for an 'appointment'. Needless to say I don't show up there anymore. Funny. However they never call or just stop by my house. They are either not that zealous in getting inactives back OR they really do not want me back. They didnt like my questions anyway so... who knows.
