many of us have devoted a lot of time and energy to the jw's at the expense of other things like education , planing for retirement , family time just to name a few.. i don't consider it all wasted time there was a lot of good i learnt however i'm doing things now as a jw i never would have.. i don't have the same time pressure and never fell guilty about taking a lot of time out for myself as one elder said to me"if we don't keep you brothers real busy in the work of the kingdom you get swallowed up by the world" .

I think its made me more independant, outgoing and has enabled me to converse with people about any subject. It has Robbed me of my youth though, and not having had a life because
the new system is around the corner. But there's no use in crying over spilt milk, I now look at life differently and am grateful for the peace I now feel. And look forward to the future with a
positive outlook.

i would like to say thank you for the gratitude expressed for the scans i have been providing.. i had the time to do this while i was sitting at my computer during the hours, days and weeks that i cared for my very sick wife.
at the moment, my partner of 46 years lies very ill in hospital, so you will understand that i currently do not have the time to scour the various threads and posts.
I would also like to thankyou for all your time and effort put forth in the info you have given us. It means alot!

a person is disfellowshipped, works hard to get reinstated and once they finally are, they go straight to inactivity and you almost never see them in the kingdom hall again.
when i was an active jw i couldn't understand why a person would go through the process of reinstatement only to become inactive.
i understand why now .
I no someone who sat there such along time. I think he just wanted to have a relationship with his kids since he was divorced and his mom. I can't image the tremendous
pressure to sit at the back of the hall, people giving you those plastic little smiles. I faded so long ago it seems now, I'm glad not to have had do go through such an ordeal. But I
really feel for those who have been df'd.

i am curious: how many of you also experienced this, as i did?
prior to my own experience i had never known of anyone who had "served their time," attended meetings regularly, and in everyway demonstrated a good heart, being turned away.
but then, i guess i wouldn't have, would i?.
In my part of the country I've noticed if your a guy you stay out at least a year, if your a girl your back in within 6 months. There harsher on men Cause "you otta no better".
Anyone ever noted simular circumstances?

south africa is considering bringing in a "pledge" that kids in school will repeat each day.
we never had such a thing as kids growing up, but when the national anthem was sung, we always had to stay seated and not participate.
i remember always hearing about flag saluting in other countries.
All though I never said the anthem, I do remember all the words when I was in elementary school in Detroit.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag and to the United States of America.........(you get the drift)
Years ago they used to say the "Lords Prayer" at the begining of morning classes in Canada, but now I think they just sing "Oh Canada" on Friday morning assemblies when all the grades
meet together. They pretty much let jw's leave the room and stand out in the hallway so there consciences are not bothered.

Well she's taken on a few challenges that are quite over whelming for her. So many think, great a bible study without understanding what it really entails to help someone. Let alone
anyone with real problems. It takes time and energy and the need to be a real true friend. How many are really ready to devote themselves to it. I've seen so many pass their studies on
