  Were U Surprised To Learn Anything About The Witnesses That U Didn't Know??

  when i was a kid, i researched the origins of the religion and realized that the witnesses were an offshoot of adventism.....we're you surprised to learn something about the witnesses that you didn't realize?.

  the years after exiting I found their hypocrasy breathtaking and the years that I used to read of their condemnation of the "churches of christendom" their own scandals make them many times worse then the ones they condemn! my list is

  1) the occult origins of pyrmaidology in Russells works

  2) Rutherfrauds cosy relationship with the Nazi's , his alcholism, his export from Canada of booze during the prohibition, Beth Sarim and his gerneral tyranicle style of rule.

  3) The homosexual scandals of GB members and the rumours that Knorr was a homosexual

  4) The Malawi/Mexico Scandal

  5) organ transplants banned then allowed, Blood tranfusions being allowed until the 50's

  6) The UN membership

  7) Holding investment stock in companies that sell and produce miliatary hardware

  8) The huge tip of the ice berg with their child abuse policy

  9) the myth that Freddie Franz was a fluent Hebrew speaker and that he was fluent in many other languages

  10) The title Judge was given to him by outsders, another lie

  11) the myth and lie that all GB members partake in the door knocking work

  i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.

  i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.

  i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.

  I believe Blondies unpaid time hold great value for lurkers and newbies coming on here and dipping their toes in the world of Apostacy, I would'nt read a damn word of a WT if you tied me down and held my eyelids open, but her research is very important and should be valued.

  this is another reason why the watchtower society doesn't require that the elders uniformly report abuse to the authorities no matter what jurisdiction.

  my favourite uncle died about two years ago (non-witness) and my mother couldn't tell me .

  earlier today i went round to the cathedral square of the city where i work for some lunch and i had the misfortune to sit near to an ol'boy witnessing to some people who were too polite to respond.

  he kept going on about truth.

  that failed prophecy was in expectation of the resurrection of the faithful patriarchs of the OT who Rutherfraud had built the house Beth Sarim forin 1925, the generation who would live to see the events of 1914 at the great tribulation was a far far later 70's and 80's failure

  we all know that the doctrine and dogma of the wts is completely false, so i'm not even going to include topics like "trinity" or "gehenna" or anything like that in my personal list.. but i'd like to see what other people list as their top five most harmful jw teachings.. #5. females in the congregation are inferior to males.. #4. you must override your personal conscience in favour of wts rules, even when you know it's wrong.. #3. shunning disfellowshippedtm and disassociatedtm individuals, without being allowed to form your own opinion or hear their side of the story, even when it is a family member or close friend, this teaching destroys families and results in far too many people taking their own lives from the agony of being rejected by the only people they have ever had relationships with.. #2. forsaking higher education, well-paid employment and planning for retirement.. #1. the no-blood rule has cost more lives since it was first introduced by rutherford than jonestown, 10 times over..

  I think the destruction of billiions of non JW's or those that dont have the right "heart condtion" or those who have continually rejected the message of "gods kingdumb" at Harmageddon is particularly damaging

  i don't know if anybody else has mentioned this, but i'm currently at a dc in sweden, and this morning, during the symposium on different kinds of service, it was mentioned that 40% of baptisms are the result of informal witnessing.

  if you add the number of baptisms of children of jw parents to this, how many are left that are baptized as a result of the door-to-door work?

  doesn't sound very effective at all....

  the funny thing on my JC the evidence from my accusers was obviously used in the first JC in which I was found guilty but in the appeal my accusers were used by me a make testimonies that I had quit speaking in a way deemed to be apostasy! crazy isn't it?

  Rumor: April 3, 2015 start of Great Tribulation?

  on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.

  dont ask me to verify the rumor...these things come and go.

  im sure lots of people in hq believe all sorts of things.. .
