forgive my brutal honesty but thats my take on this site so far.

thats not to say that it serves no useful purpose.

but it does seem that many of you are totally consumed with proving to yourself and others that jw's don't have the truth.

A tiny tap for freedom

although i know it is a small step, it feels real good to me to do a little something to shed light on this cult.

i am going to put a few copies of this little fact sheet around and put a copy in the kingdom hall's door in the town i am going to this evening, leesburg, fl.

that way i know at least one witness will see it, though i doubt he or she reads it beyond ascertaining that it is critical.

Actually Russell founded the 'Bible Students' who are still in existence today. Rutherford's 'Jehovah's Witnesses' are an outgrowth of that group (who are in turn an outgrowth of Seventh Day Advents). As the Bible writer said, truly nothing new under the sun, hey?

The way you phrased it in your post is unfortunately the understanding that Jehovah's Witnesses have today, tho it is a false one. (OH WELL THAT'S SO NEW)

This is from a publication of the Bible Students, dated 1999;

"Erroneously credited with being the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, his message was far different from theirs. He proclaimed a God of love for all mankind - the saved as well as the unsaved. Instead of pronouncing doom on those who did not believe his mesage, he forsaw a time when these unbelievers would be greatly blessed."

I only want to put up here for public scrutiny that this viewpoint exists. Call it just one more lie perpetuated by the WT.

Amen to that Msil. I am doing my best these days to limit my posts to threads such as this one, and wouldn't you know by doing that I still barely stay within my per day posting limit.

I got love and support when I first cmae hurting to this board, and I intend to pass it on. And in any case, welcoming new ones, comforting the hurting ones and helping with research/doctinal issues is becoming a full time job in itself.

In my nightmares, I open up a watchtower and read in black and white print, some of the negative things that have gone on, on this DB. I know of at least 2 persons THIS WEEK who say they are leaving because they came here for support and got nothing but negativity. They have gone running to the WT That is not why I am here, that is not what happened to me when I came here. I don't know what is different, except that so many of us are going through bad times emotionally right now, we are lashing out instead of reaching out maybe...?

I hope we don't lose anyone more off of this board. This is a strong 'family', we will survive and others will join us, and they will help others,and so on and so on, it's been going on since the sixties.

The ball is rolling, the lambs are roaring, and this is a wonderful time to be here. I can't tell you what a priviledge it is for me!

Loyal ones close to apostasy?

since all baptised jehovah's witnesses are required to give loyal obedience to the watch tower society or f&ds, it's necessary to accept all the teachings of the organisation.. next time you're challenged by an elder as to whether you accept all the teachings of the organisation, you might like to refer him to page 262 of the daniel book.. there the "ships of kittim" are 'identified' as the ships of britain lying off the western coast of europe in ww1.

kittim is believed to be the ancient name of cyprus.

in the first world war cyprus was annexed by britain.

Why are the JW's so bad?

i've been studying the bible with a jehovah's witness in my town, and i'm rather enjoying it.. but why do so many people hate the jw's.. i've researched on my own and have come to the conclusion that they are right on most accounts including the trinity, blood, nationalism... etc.... and the more arguments i hear against the more i'm drawn into believing what they stand for.. and every argument i've seen in support of the things jw's are against the more i think the jw's are right.. so why are they so bad?
