hi, everyone.. a week or so ago someone posted on the subject of black reparations and asked what our opinion was - pro or con - and why.
now, i'm not going to claim that i'm an expert on the subject, plus, i'm white, plus, i'm a back country red-neck (of the jeff foxworthy stripe .
well, the truth is that country red-necks are as badly misrepresented in public opinion as most other groups in the country.
Do you think black people have been harmed by being in America? How many would trade places with the those in Africa? Which group of blacks have the better living conditions? I see nothing in the heritage of Africans to be proud of in America. Maybe they should be a little thankful for being here.Ken P.

Heya, Spice. It is sooo easy to disprove the bible you'll have to narrow it down. I would take some of the other suggestions and have your father pick his 5 points then go from there. The easiest to disprove is the story of Noah. Strictly scientifically speaking you could even make a case for Jesus never existing. You could bring up the obvious contradiction in the account of the death of Judas. Man he kinda left it too wide open.
as you all may remember, i left the organization 4 years ago - never df'd, never dissassociated, just left.
my parents initially tried everything they could to get me to come back but to no avail.
they've never really shunned me because we still talk on the phone, but seeing that we live on the opposite coasts, i've only seen them once in 4 years.
The only problem with marriage statistics is that I don't think they take into account how rare it is for a couple who has not lived together to get married. The non'livers are a far smaller bunch to track than those that live together. It is like the old Pot leads to harder drugs theory. While it is flawed it is still accepted as fact. Something like marriage always comes down to the individuals involved.

While your sitting there on the couch getting bigger he can go have an affair with an elders daughter. do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?.

We don't live in a vacuum people. Since others are sidestepping I'll say it, 9/11 is a result of our policies in the middle east. Does that justify their actions? No. But we are just doing the same damn thing that got us into this mess in the first place. Iraq has never been shown to have anything to do with 9/11. All I hear are the same fear tactics used during the cold war to justify any action. Saddam would not sell or give WMD to terrorists because he knows they could be traced back to him and then he'd get nuked. It is this same motivation that kept him from using them during the first Gulf War even as he was getting his ass kicked.
What ever happened to Bush showing us how Saddam is linked to Al Quieda? There was no link, so he jumped on the WMD bandwagon. Back2dafront put it very soundly, most citizens of the U.S. are no different than those in the Middle East. Both are willing to just believe whatever their told, both think god is on their side, both are full of ethnocentric assholes, both think that might makes right. Only difference is we sit in an armored bunker and fire missiles from 2,000 miles away, while they have to get up close and personal.
Spin the propoganda anyway you like but war with Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terrorism. I like to call it Operation Finish Daddies War.

Peaceniks? As opposed to war mongering morons? I'll take the peacenik title thanks. Peace rallies don't influence policy but they do influence elections. The last thing George Dumbya wants is to loose the next election. He still has a few civil liberties to trample. Bush is reaching with his sense of urgency on Iraq but I think he is hoping his popularity will increase with a war. As Mulan has pointed out that is not happening.

I have Pentagrams, a Buddha statue, an obelisk to Isis, copper statues of the triple Goddess, among other smaller trinkets. Guess what? No demons here not even a mouse. Also realize it took me 10 years to get that JW crap out of my head. Wiccans believe that if you name something you give it form, whether physical or psychological. Call everything the work of Demons and they'll be given form within your own mind.

it's cold in jersey today.
normally, my girth protects me, but as i was having one of my weekend cigars, i noticed that i had to keep switching hands while i warmed the other.....gar!.
I'm up here with Princess and I have to say the winter has been really mild so far. Other than the 2 weeks of dense fog 24 hours a day nothing unusual has happened.

my wife and i are starting to look into moving out of the u.s. we are looking at both canada and australia but are leaning to canada.
keep in mind we are just starting to do research so we haven't delved too far in to the politics or locations in canada.
does anyone have any location suggestions?
We live in Bremerton right now so Vancouver is about an hour drive and a short ferry run. That being said, I've never been there.
