I didn't want to be the one to start a thread like this but I guess I'll comment. I thought Erica was really hot. Amazingly hot as a matter of fact. Holly could be if it weren't for the self mutilation, however, she seemed life a really cool person. Often times that is more important.

I've seen it twice so far and liked it much better the second time. Yes, the lightsaber battle with Yoda is the most amazing thing I've seen in any of the SW movies. I'm hoping he does more of it in the 3rd one but I see Lucas leaving us hanging like he always does with something that could be cool. I love the Boba Fett side plot as well. However, I have one bit of advice to Lucas, HIRE AN EDITOR AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOB. While the movie was awesome the editing was confusing as hell and there was no real flow to the movie. It was like watching a bunch of really cool short movies put together. That works for Pulp Fiction but not Star Wars.

Bush finally snaps

On a side note, my voting patterns follow the lesser of two evils. I used to respect Republicans because they were the "we're all about money" party (a Bill Mahr philosophy). Now they've turned into the Jesus is on our side party and that is a sickening way to garner votes to me. If they were just flat out honest they'd get allot more votes from me.

Man, Cowboy do you have a compound somewhere? Chill out. I'll hug my trees because I'm wiccan and that's it. Since some may think I'm a left wing wacko let me tell you what I don't like about Democrats. They think that everyone in the world deserves a free handout. I consider them the party for the lazy. It's nice to help people but I don't want my tax dollars going to some dumb ho that wants to pump out a litter of children so she can get more money from welfare. Democrats are nice for setting up IDEALISTIC thought programs. However, we need the republicans for bringing them back to reality.
I really hope though that noone thinks that republicans really care about you unless you're a large corporation. If you have fooled yourself that either party cares about the middle class you are severely deluding yourself. As for Libertarian, I don't know a single thing about them. Perhaps someone could enlighten me. -

Is reality disturbing?
by sleepy inhas the change from witness style religous thinking to an atheistic viewpoint disturbed your brain?.
(this post is not about whether religion is responsable for morality , but about the change in the viewpoint and outlook from a jw to an athiest.
morality is used as an example.neither do i feel that you carnt be moral without a belief in a god.).

Your argument is flawed. A good study of cultural and historical relativism would help. I do not believe the world is "MORE" moral than before because you can only think in the context of what you know now. You assume the world is more moral now because you may/maynot agree with how the world was back in ancient times. I would say that in general religion has caused more problems than it has cured. Personally, I would have loved to live in ancient Greece with Plato and all of them.
What my seen moral today to the majority of people may seem barbaric in the future.
This is true, but does that mean that you're a babarian? While religion seeks to control our moral center it often breaks its own rules in doing so. I don't think we are more or less babaric than those is ancient times. While we can speculate on the future, I think that religion will still play a part in hoisting up these fake beliefs that all should adhere to. If anything, at this time, religion is stunting our growth as humans. I think our sense of "morality" would be shifting and changing regardless of religion.

Watch out Elsewhere, your coming dangerously close to being pagan/wiccan ;) I do think that people find god/satan as a convenient scapegoat for whatever befalls them. I believe our lives are up to us. We have no one to blame for our bad descisions or anything bad that comes to us. You can choose to go out and hurt people or not love anything but the consequences of such actions will be entirely of your own making. If spending the rest of your life in a prison cell appeals to you then by all means kill away.
I was watching the 700 club one time (purely for comic relief). They said that the new Pagan movement and Atheism were on the rise because they were beliefs of convenience. I find this to be quite the opposite. As a wiccan I don't have anyone to fall back on for all my problems except me. I'm not atheist so I'll leave the matter of convenience debate up to Elsewhere. Sorry if that was rambling. I too get tired of the belief that without a set belief system we will all resort to primitive emotions. -

Seems I'll have to clarify. It seems to me that Bush would be a cool guy to have a beer with while having a BBQ. You don't have to be a know it all to be president but you have to have a certain amount of decorum.
You don't get in the Position of running the most powerful country in the world by being dumb.
No, you get it with the help of your brother.
To me Reagan and Clinton were the best liars I have ever seen. Reagan was the absolute best liar because he made you feel good about yourself while he was lying to your face. Clinton was good at first but really fell off towards the end there.
I'm very happy with Bush's advisors and all of their press people as well because I think most reporters are far more arrogant than the people they cover.
As far as party lines. I'm about in the middle. There are some republicans I like and some democrats I like. I think if anyone blindly follows a party they may as well be a JW where free thought is outlawed. Will Bush be recorded as the strongest pres. ever? Who knows. I do know he needs some coaching on foreign affairs. -

Aaah, watch the party lines come to light. I'm no fan of Gore, especially is running mate Leiberman who is for censorship. But come on. Unload your Republican baggage and admit that Bush is a complete moron. He is not running this country or anything for that matter. It is obvious that his advisors are and thank God for that. He has a good support crew and you can tell that they are running the show. All he has to do is learn a few catch phrases (how many times have you heard "smoke em outta their holes") smile and wave.
This latest stunt almost makes me ashamed to be an American. All of you should be praising Bush's advisors not Bush. -

Someone's been reading a little too much Sitchin. I like his theory's but I always get off the bus when someone starts talking about an apocolypse.
