As you said WE are not suppose to look at anyone else but the creator as GOD..I dont call Jesus MY GOD, that I reserve to the Father as Jesus also said - Jesus never called himself THE GOD. When I say he is GOD, its different that what you are thinking..Has God The Father called Jesus God? Yes he has..and that is coming from Jehovah..thats exactly how I believe..

But about the Son he says,
"Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. (Heb. 1:8).

And also:

You keep getting the word GOD mixed up easily...that is why I listed other ways to look at the word..Again, men (even Moses), Satan, other pagans (gods) and Jesus have all been called GOD. You keep looking at it as GOD THE FATHER - thats your mistake .just read John 1:1..how hard is this to understand? I dont care if its says "the God" or just a "god"..the word god is there for the Logos (The Word)..

Also

Since the bible was written by men decades ago as you said..does this mean its not inspired?? Does it mean its not the word of God?
if your supporting your theory by using the bible, please do not throw this in..You can support your beliefs using the bible and say something like that..

When you think of FALSE, it does not mean they (as gods) do not exist in nature, they do (sometimes), just that the argument is they are NOT EQUAL to THE GOD - thuse false.

Think of False prophets, they are real but they are false giving..this is the best way I can explain it..

Hmmm..so are you saying the bible DOESNT call men, Jesus, satan GOD??

Do I believe that Thomas called Jesus GOD? Of course I do..afterall John 1:1 calls him GOD (not THE GOD - ho theos - if you were to read the original Greek translation)

Back up the chapter before and what does JESUS say's (this is more important to me than what Thomas says)

John 20:17

Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

The problem I think we are having is that although THERE IS "ONE" GOD, the bible talks about many gods (men, pagan gods), even Satan is called GOD - just not "THE GOD". I still believe in ONE GOD (THE GOD), but Jesus is GOD (in divinity) just in the context of even - and I hate to say this - but SATAN..So I guess, Jesus is "a" GOD to me -if I were ranking them.

let me start by stating that i'm not a jehovah's witness but have family who have been discussing it with me and i am hoping for a better answer than i have gotten thus far.

i can find no scriptural backing for jesus being the arch-angel michael.

in fact i find things that seem to show me that they are two distinctly different beings.

In Greek, there is only a DEFINITE ARTICLE "the" there is no INDEFINITE ARTICLE - so there are going to be some sterling rules. In English we have a definite one "the" and indefinite "a". So taking a look at your bible in the New Testatment, you will see that the word "A" is all over for obvious reason, translation will do so (and this isnt just with Greek to English but Greek to other languages as well). If the Greek original skips using the THE (HO), then allot of the times its means indefinites, then translation will go through a series to make sure when to use "THE" or "A"..Its obvious though that there are times where doctrines are involved and we get bad translations using these two articles

I personally believe so..who knows..I believe GOD has a plan that we are not fully aware of but here are some interesting verses. I use to at an early age asked my mom, if GOD is the creator of everything then he is the creator of good and evil (the tree of knowledge). I also believe that GOD knew that Adam and Even will sin, since he is all knowing (and of what I remember when done with his creating "all was good"), I also feel that he knew the angel that is now Satan will do what he did, considering that Jesus knew Judas will betray him beforehand..GOD DOES USE EVIL for his own plan..

"...I [GOD] will bring EVIL from the north, and a GREAT DESTRUCTION" (Jer. 4:6).

"And he said, I [the lying spirit] will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets... and He [GOD] said, ...GO forth, and DO SO" (I Kg. 22:22).

"O LORD, why has THOU MADE US TO ERR from thy ways, and HARDENED OUR HEART from thy fear?" (Isa. 63:17).

"...so shall the Lord bring upon you ALL EVIL THINGS, until he have destroyed you..." (Josh. 23:15).

"for there are three that bear record in heaven, the father, the word, and the holy ghost: and these three are one.".

It could stay the way it is...It still does not say 3 in 1 GOD..If I am correct the way it should read at the end is the 3 are in ACCORD.

Sacalton Jesus used FATHER - and saying HO THEOS (the god) the Jews already knew who that was meant for (the god of the old testament). Remember GOD's name was never pronounced in the Old Testament - Tetragrammaton- YWHW..The names that are NOW pronounceable came after..In fact Jews use to say ADONAI (sp?), they NEVER tried to say his name even till this day - they do not.
