That's right folks, before printing, planes, trains, pony express, and other avenues of communication were used, you had to get all bible understanding through these few men. If you lived in a different state, country, continent, you had zero chance of understanding the bible. If you had a ranch in colorado but the slave lived in New York, you somehow had to figure out where these guys lived, then travel there, then ask them what the bible's message was or your ass was grass in gods eyes. Yeah, christianity was a tough road before modern inventions I tell ya.

Misquoting Jesus-a must read
by dawg ini've read comments from those of you that still cling to the bible stating that there's no merit in the di vinci code's claim concerning the conference in nicea in 325. we all know that book is fiction but like all great fiction, there's some truth behind the story.
some of you have made statements that the nt was actually written by the apostles, which i refuted, and after asking for and not reciveing information from you believers any bible scholars anywhere that would go on record saying they believed the nt was in fact written by the apostles; i decided to researcht he subject on my own.
i could find no scholars that believed the apostles wrote the nt; as a matter of fact, they all said the apostles couldn't have written them.

First of all, most believers don't believe the apostles wrote ALL the books in the N.T. As an example...Paul was not an apostle, yet many books are attributed to him.
Secondly, I agree with you in that the church was behind much of the writings of the N.T. for THEIR benifit. Had most of the apostles written the N.T., then aside from the gospels, they would have included stories about Jesus EARTHLY life and not just his heavenly life, yet NOT ONE of the bible books outside the gospels tell of Jesus earthly life.....something they would have most assuredly done to prove his existence since they were eye-witnesses to his earthly life. No stories of his birth, his death, his miracles, his speeches, nothing.

from my pre-teens until i was 18, i was in every circuit assembly and district convention----having either ministry school talks or parts or experiences.
at 20, i conducted a bookstudy in the afternoon, also regular pioneered, was the theocratic ministry school overseer in the 2nd school and regularly taught the main school.

I realised Mini-mouse wasn't as nerdy as he seemed when I talked to the bastard on the phone a time or two. You'd never think that bouncing corny red dot would have an Issac Hayes/Barry White voice like he does but he does. I figured he'd talk like Jerry Lewis when I was to talk to him on the phone and he surprised the poop out of me.

Blondie, you are JWD's documentation lady. Whenever a Watchtower quote is needed, you have always been there to post the article as proof........and this is an asset too valuable to put a price on. JWD is the biggest source of information on the Watchtower society with thousands of lurkers that become ex-jehovah's witnesses due to people like you who post refrences to back-up the claims made here by ex-jehovah's witnesses. Ex-jehovah's witnesses are called liars by Jehovah's witnesses but you put out the fire of those claims by backing up statements made about the Watchtower society...........thank you from the bottom of our hearts for doing this for all of us.
You and Leolaia and Narkisso's are a special breed here on JWD and without people like you, things would not work out as smoothly as they do here in aiding ones out of this family destroying cult.

if they aren't wholesouled, then they should not expect that having one foot in the "truth" and the other in the world will let them make it through the great tribulation....herd was trying to motivate the troops!

Once again the Slave speaks out of another side of it's many mouths it has.
From one side of it's mouth it says only 30- 50% of baptised witnesses will survive the battle of armageddon, then from another side of it's big mouth it tells us that at armageddon Jehovah will read the hearts of even those not yet JW's since there may be some of them who would be rightously disposed if they had a good witness delivered to them and that he could even spare their lives. So, it seems that even those not yet witnesses will have a better chance than a dub who is only doing a meager amount of their potential.
Btw, does anyone have a quote of the society saying that at armageddon Jehovah would read the hearts of those not yet witnesses and spare some of them? I cannot recall where the article(s) are.

MOUTHY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS AND/OR SUPPORT

as some of you may know, she's already lost 3 of her children in death and the other one to the borg.
in the last couple of days, she's had to worry about her 2 year old great-granddaughter being in the hospital with an illness and yesterday, her daughter had a suspicious mole removed from her back and was told there is a lump in her breast which has to be biopsied.
