I've never seen the episode where Edith died. Would like to see that one.
my brother's stepson, wesley reier, accidentally overdosed on drugs.
he is considered brain dead.
his biological parents have decided to put him in a nursing home, where he will remain for the rest of his natural life.
Thank you for your comments and your prayers. No, Wesley doesn't have any children or a wife. He's holding up well off of life support so it appears he'll spend the rest of his life unconscious in a nursing home. It's a terrible emotional burden on my brother and sister-in-law.
Fakesmile, why do you assume we didn't try to get Wesley cleaned up before this happened? He'd clean up and then go back to the same old friends and get messed up all over again. This battle has been going on for awhile. And, yes, there have been plenty of prayers for him over the past few years.
so, in 2010 i recived my ged with the goal of going to college and getting a degree.
in the mean time i have been an active member of my schools honors program and have finished all of the requirements for graduation from the honors program.
they were 15 credit hours of honors classes, 12 hours of volunteer work in my community, and 16 hours of cultural activites offered by the honors program.
Congrats, Noni! I'm a non-traditional student also, although working on my bachelor's degree in creative writing. BTW, what school do you attend? I'm at Miami U. down in Oxford.
there are some things that i wish the local congregation knew about my husband but i am not sure how to inform them.. my husband was a jw in a previous marriage but none of his family are jw's except for one half sister who he recently met for the first time.
his ex wife is no longer a believer either and their three adult kids want nothing to do with the jw's.. i met my husband 8 years ago on eharmony.
i should have been leary when he stated his religion as "christian".
Wow. I don't think it's a good idea to "out" your husband if you want the marriage to work out. He's already been away from the Dubs for six weeks to please you. Just hope he stays away longer and don't make any moves until he does, IMO. Hope you are healthy again soon.
came across this and found it very interesting.. earliest remains of oldest horse breed found.
by archaeologists in iran.
gohar tappeh, n.iran.
There is a documentary about horses starring Martin Clunes called "Horsepower". It is very interesting and shows those beautiful mongolian horses. Martin Clunes is 6'5" tall and when he tried to ride one his feet touched the ground. If you love horses, you'll really enjoy this show.

Didn't hear she had died. A real loss. I loved Edith. When I was growing up and we saw All In The Family for the first time, we almost rolled in the floor laughing because Archie and Edith were so much like our parents. Although my mother has never been as benevolent as Edith, just more of the dingbat side!
both my wife and i were talking about some of the good times we had when we were jw`s ......and we did have good times socialising ,going out for meals ,hotels ,/ wedding functions /,with groups on barbequres /,camping at national parks , and beaches ,/enjoying fellowship at one anothers house on many an occassion ,/video nights / thearter nights with who we thought were good freinds ,our children grew up with their children and vice versa .i was a ms my wife was a people person who liked to entertain at home and many people responded to that.and i would say that apart from the first 5 years of our involvement and discarding the last few years of our leaving their was at least 20 + years of our relationship with our brothers and sisters who we considered our intimate freinds.. once you leave the religion they dont want to know you ,i tried a couple of times with no response.. whatever happened to trying to get you going again ?
(not that we ever would but they dont know that )and no neither of us were disfellowshipped.
i just think it`s a pity that in their veiw freindship is conditional on staying with the organization.
I never really fit in so I can't say I have many good memories. However, after the book study, we'd watch old reel to reels of the Keystone Cops and those were really funny. The time spent at the Norris' house was time well spent. Otherwise, it was all an uncomfortable requirement of being a Dub.
Amelia, did they tell you why they wanted you to leave?

His mom and my brother are die hard JWs. His dad is a die hard "apostate" who is notorious in this area.
This is a terrible tragedy and all prayers are appreciated.
i have recently been having a feeling of guilt for having escaped the w.t while so many friends and family remain trapped.. has anyone else ever had similar feelings?.
No guilt. I have a husband, children, and a faith that I couldn't have had if I had remained a JW. My family made their choice and I've made mine. No one is holding a gun to their heads.
Besides, I believe my siblings stay in because they're afraid Mommy will cut them out of the will if they defect, bottom feeders that they are.
I've joked that, out of six siblings, I'm the only one of my parents' offspring that survived our childhood with the crazy old coots.
I'm so grateful to be out and have a normal life that I don't have time to feel guilty. If I could choose to leave, so can they. They face fewer obstacles than I faced when I left. I was the trailblazer.
