  1914 pyramid prediction explained on History channel......

  i was watching "the nostradamus effect" episode - "doomsday hieroglyphs" the other day.

  i was shocked when they began speaking about (no names mentioned) of those who believed that measurements of the giza pyramid to predict the end of the world.

  they showed charts and how that scenario hit 1914 to a certain part, then the entire measurements end at september of 2011. .

  Russell was late in the game of Pyramidology,others had outlined the idea long before he picked it up.

  He was most impressed by that old fraud Piazzi-Smythe, who styled himself Astronomer Royal for Scotland, when there was no such position.

  Chazzer wrote to Prof P-S and received a letter back which Russell proudly published in Studies in the Scriptures (the vol. about the pyramid), if you read it Piazzi-Smythe is actually very non-commital.

  I kinda think it is no worse a theory than the latest overlapping generation tosh.

  Looking for a Photo of Fred Franz

  do any of you recall seeing a photograph in one of the society's publications of fred franz where he is giving a public talk at an assembly and has his left arm stretched out and on his left hand is a masonic ring.

  it may have been in one of the special international assembly brochures.. with this great group of sleuths i thought some may have come across it..

  i am confused, so was it constantine who created the first canon or was it athanasius throught constantine, or was it just athanasius before constantine?.

  Good articles on Wiki , interesting that the canon that JW's accept was decided by the Catholic Church in around 381AD( from memory) at atime the JW's claim the church was Apostate, so theirs, the infamous NWT, is an Apostate Bible !

  been to the kh once, at about 3 years old, for a relative's funeral.

  lately, my 10 year old and her bff are talking on the phone alot.

  What a joy your lovely daughter must be to you ! You can see a caring compassionate character forming in her already, boy do theu grow up quick !

  We as JW's were, as you say, not encouraged to grow up and take responsibility for making the world a better place.

  the christ hymn in philippians 2:6-11.

  (the authentic letters of paul, arthur j. dewey and others, pages 194 -196).

  several of the terms used in verses 6 to 8 echo the terminology found in the story of the creation and fall of adam in genesis 1 and 3 in the greek translation of the hebrew bible (the septuagint) that paul and all of the authors of the writings that comprise the new testament knew and used.

  i just received a brochure from a midwestern travel agency operated by jws that specialized in bethel tours.

  i found this excerpt, relating to one item on the itinerary, as visit toe the holoccaust museum in washington quite interesting: "the museum is dedicated to presenting the story of how more than 30,000 jehovah's witnesses were persecuted by the nazis.

  apparently the tour operators consider the slaugther of more than 6 million jews unworthy of mention!

  See the 1933 letter to Hitler from Rutherford, you will see there the support he claims for the Nazis at that point, I wonder when, if ever, they first published something condemning the Nazi atrocities, not just for killing Bible Students (as they were still known in Germany till after the war I think) ?
