  Coming to the Father

  this is for the christians on the site really,but all comments are welcome.. jesus said that "no one comes to the father,except through me", my understanding of those words is that we need to ask jesus to be our saviour,to accept,or adopt, us as sons and daughters,and thus become our eternal father,and thus we become brothers and sisters of christ and hence can have a relationship with almighty god.. i may have missed something so please add or correct me,but if the above is in essence correct no jdub of the " great crowd" can have a relationship with god,as they are not christs brothers.. this leads me on to ask,if you do believe as i do (as above) what can i do about the lords evening meal,i do not feel at present that i can go to any church,i will not go to a k.h,and i am alone in my belief as to family,so have any of you celebrated it alone?

  and if so isn't that really weird?.

  Welcome JWT! thanks for posting your biog. I am sure you will get much love and support and great advice here,as I have.

  I can see for me that I will be parted from my many little relatives if they, (the family under Dub influence) have their way.

  I am taking the tack at the moment that my Wife and I have not changed as people,we still love them as we did,and we will never say anything "spiritual" to the little ones that cannot be found plainly in God's Word.

  I don't think this will be enough for the family though,they are SO under the influence of the Cult.

  Anyway Keep Smiling! and keep us informed of progress.

  Cedar Point convention 1922, Question

  the society says that the trumpet blast in revelation 8th chapter pointed to proclamations starting with the cedar point ohio convention in 1922. can anyone point me to what was actually said at that convention and others that supposedly coincide with these trumpet blasts.

  Why don't they want to know what they don't know they know??

  i did a thread a few months back about how many dubs are just like us....they don't do or believe everything the fds tell them they should.

  such as many dubs do not shun and many dont think only jw's will survive armageddon, many this college is a very good idea etc.

  but i have noticed since i went super vocal trying to enlighten my friends upon my wake-up, that not only do many, many dubs not really know actual jw teachings, but they dont even care what they are or are not!

  I agree Oompa,

  It is so frustrating to try to get them to engage their brain,the problem is as you say,they don't know what they are supposed to believe,so exposing those beliefs as the Bull***t they are dosn't rattle their cage.

  I had a discussion with my sister,65 years a Dub,a few weeks ago and I had to keep saying"You had better research that" coz she knew so little!

  I really don't know what to do to get past the brain-washed cognitive dissonance that pervades the Dub phsyche.

  I think just drip-feed stuff as we get the opportunity,after all that is the way we were all brain-washed when we grew up,or joined.

  who go ONLY to the memorial???

  i was planning on going to a meeting or two with my wife.......maybe one or two a month.....but if i do...... i still really do not want to ever go to another memorial......they have weirded me out for years and most of jw friends know that........but you know once you skip a memorial it is like you are marked for death already....i mean word gets around fast "omg...i just heard oompa did not go to the memorial!

  so how is this gonna fly if i go to a couple of meetings a month, but skip the memorial?

  and if was gonna try to appease my wife by going to some meetings.......should i just bite the bullet and go to the memorial........and then maybe only do the memorial?......i always thought that was sooo funny that we had a bunch of once a year jw's.........they loved coming and rejecting jesus every year..........oompa.

  Did You Ever "Learn" Anything Because You Went To The Meetings?

  years ago, you could attend a meeting and hear a well researched talk or give an answer from the watchtower that had some "meat" on it.

  i remember in the 70s when witnesses used to look forward to ruminating on what might be a "new point" or a veiled possible new understanding of a doctrinal view.. these days, the only thing you could learn from a meeting is that brother so-and-so got deleted or "is no longer a witness".. what a bore!.

  I learned how to secrete a good novel in your Bible and read it during the boring meetings,until my Mum became suspiscious of this newfound religiosity,and investigated and found said somewhat "racy" novel !

  a few months ago there were some fairly authoritative threads that the pioneer hours were being decreased.

  that has not happened.

  also, there was a thread that the co arrangement was going to be dramatically changed in the next year or two, and i got some private notes from some excellent sources attesting to that.

  The name Jehovah and the April Study edition of the Watchtower

  in the 1st study article of the april watchtower, a statement is made about some apostates opposing the use of the name jehovah.

  i would like to seriously ask this question to lurkers and active witnesses.

  why is it that in the new world translation the name jehovah apears in the greek scriptures (aka new testament) only 237 times and yet in the watchtower magazine between the years of 2000 to 2006 the name jehovah appears an average of about 3000 times per year?

  Keep at it Oompa!

  Lurkers reading here may come to realise that the WTB$ has added Jehovah to revelation 11 times I believe,with NO manuscript reason so to do,and of course Jesus is NOT quoting from the O.T as he gives the Rev. so NO justification whatsoever,and hopefully the curse on them for so doing will soon occur!

  I think they cling to using the name to try to make themselves exclusive,and Dubs can say "nobody uses the name like we do "

  Damn right,we have done our homework,we know what the scriptures say,and we know that Almighty God does not give a flying **** about the name Jehovah,if He did ,he wouldn't allow it to be attached to a large publishing company in N.Y who never teach the truth!
