Hi! I'm a hardcore skeptic. I don't believe in the supernatural. I do need proof to believe in this stuff.I have seen these so called "shadow people". I started seeing them after I started suffering from major depression and insomnia. I would be going about my business and I would see a shadow person out of the corner of my eye. They looked so real and exactly the shape of a person. I would see them and would have to do a double take. Of course, they would be gone when I looked back. I'm sure my insomnia and depression meds where responsible for this, cause ever since I've gotten over both things I've stopped seeing them. I agree with some people here that say that mental illnesses causes people to see things.

WHY I believe there is a GOD..listen up...poster named "parakeet"
by dirtyknections insimply put...i believe there is a god..and his name is yhwh aka jehovah..and his son yeshua or yehoshua aka jesus..died for our sins as a propitiatory ransom sacrifice to antone for mankinds sins..i therefore am also a creationist...i do not believe science contradicts the bible...rather i think it agrees and compliments it rather well.. .
i am creating this post in response to comments made in my last post by the poster named "parakeet"... i just thought i should explain myself before he/she starts deducting praise from me (see my last post)..lol...alright here goes.
i grew in a small town in florida called macclenny..population- 20,000.. my mother and her family were raised in this quaint little city...my family on my mothers side has been in this city since the early 1920's...ok...lemme me get to the meat of the story.. .

My Experiences= Trust NO ONE if you don't want to die or be molested.
by Witness 007 in{iam not comfortable sharing experiences here yet but here's some personal demons}.
as a kid my parents divorced so my mum moved with her two kids from a nice leafy family suburb, to a government housing estate...or hell as i remember it!
one day at our train station a man followed me in to the toilet.

I have never lived in a bad area as you have, but nonetheless I agree with you: Trust no one. I am somewhat paranoid. I don't like going into gas station mini marts because they are always getting robbed. My friend was at one getting a money order to pay rent when a guy came in and pulled a gun on her and took her money. I can't imagine what that must have felt. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I'm sure it's made you a stronger person.

Embarassed at school for being a Witness - Did this happen to you?
by Witness 007 inwhen they played the national anthem everyone stood up...except afew of us witness kids who stood out like a saw thumb....a brother two rows ahead of me had a teacher physically drag him to his feet as he struggled to explain himself...i would sweat like a pig as others pointed and laught and told me off...from then on i would hide in the toilet till i heard the anthem finish then come out.. then theirs birthday holidays, sex education, religious studies which i wanted to do since i would be a star but i was banned by my family.. do you have an embarassing hide like a rat in the toilet moment..

i thought that my personal story might be of interest.

hi newbie to this great place
by freespirit67 insorry this has turned out longer than i thought.anyway i lived the life of a single mother fell away from the organisation, and eventually met a (worldly) guy who is the most loving guy i have ever met,my best friend, lover and soulmate.i was disfellowshipped 4 months ago because we live with each other and plan to get married in september, unacceptable to the society hence my disfellowshipping.it has broke my mum and dads heart and im so so sorry for this,i love them so much, but no longer want or believe in the jw beliefs.
i still believe in god but dont know where im bound as regards my faith,i really do want to have something.
apart from my mum and dad and the shunning arrangement im so happy, the happiest i have ever been in years, and my 2 youngest ones are happy as well..my eldest daughter is 16 and planning on getting baptised in july which is tearing me apart, she is so like me,but is being brainwashed by a certain crowd of witnesses, need i say anymore...my eldest son who is 18 isnt in the truth and feels the same way i do... anyway thanks for this forum and hope to hear from likeminded friends soon.

Hi! Welcome. Aren't "worldly" men great? I was married to a witness for 3 years and it was a horrible marriage. I divorced him then met my current husband. We've been happily married for 6 years. Great to have you here!

New Here
by LearningMore ini have been lurking here for a couple of months.
i was born and raised as a witness, and am a little weirded out to even be posting on here (you know the paranoia).
anyway, i faded about 10 years ago, and after reading so many posts, i am so happy that it was a pretty uneventful experience.

Welcome to JWD! You'll find that most people here will know exactly what you're feeling. I've been here for a couple of months and I'm hooked! My husband doesn't understand why I love this site either. Like you said: it takes one to know one.

Congrats! It's so nice to hear that some people can think for themselves even though they are JW's. They are a great example to all the other JW kids.
