  I am so distraught! I can't sleep! It's not fair! I'm a good person and I should be able to attend her wedding! NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll try to follow your guys advice, once I get off the emotional rollercoster I'm on. Sorry folks.....the Ambien is kicking in......see you guys in the morning. Love you guys!!!!!

  hi all, newbe here!

  around 4 years ago i started a study with a jw lady.i didn't tell her this, but i was sexually abused at the age of 4 untill i was able to get away from them!

  i went through life being angry,and i smoked pot so i could forget about the pain.my moms a jw and so is my brother,so i believed what they teach to be true!

  Welcome Beerose! I was abused as achild as well so I know how you feel. I was mistreated by a lot of people in the Kingdom Hall as a teenager. I had a lot of emotional problems stemming from the abuse. I'm glad you didn't get sucked in. They are a bunch of hypocrites!

  Thanks everyone for your kind words. my sister called me today while I was at work and caught me completely off guard. I told her that it really hurt me that I wasn't invited to her wedding and she said it hurt her as well, but that her relationship with Jehovah was more important than any other relationship. Her reason for not inviting me is that I was reproved ten years ago and have not tried to make up for it. She told me that reproved people aren't allowed to attend JW social gatherings. I told her that that didn't make any sense. I'm not DF'd. So to make a long story short, I told her that I hated her stupid religion for tearing families apart, told her to leave me alone and never to call me again and hung up on her. :( I didn't mean to do that. I love her and I don't want to hurt her, but she caught me off guard . I've been an emotional wreck for the past two days because of her and I couldn't help it. I feel so bad.

  ok, so having been raised as a jw, i never celebrated my birthday.

  well, i am coming up on my birthday pretty soon (i'll be 25, yay!!

  ) and i am determined to celebrate it!!!

  I've celebrated three birthdays since I've been out. For my 21st we went to dinner and the went out clubbing. The other two were just dinner and a party at a friends house. Just having people who care about you on your birthday is great. I got a cake a presents. If you drink, having a little booze makes it real interesting too. ;) Happy Birthday!

  Hi everyone. I'm feeling rejected and hurt because I've just been informed that I am not invited to my little sisters wedding. First, here's a little background story on my relationship with her: She and I are three years apart. When we were younger we were very close (I was in the "truth" back then). After I became inactive she started acting differently towards me. After it became known that I wasn't going back, she started shunning me in subtle ways. She rarely talks to me and when they visit she just grabs a book from my bookshelf and sits there and reads. Anyway, she's been talking about getting married for about a year and she told me that she even spoke to the elders about me and if I should be allowed to come to her wedding. They said it would be ok since I haven't been DF'd. So she gets an ok from them but make the choice of not inviting me anyway. I am so upset! I can add this experience to the many reasons I won't go back to that hateful religion.

  I have three. Two on each ankle and one on my lower spine. I was nineteen when I got my first tat of a dragon on my left ankle. The second I got when I was twenty one and it's on my lower back: Four Chinese zodiac symbols: mine, my husbands, and my two daughters. The third I got when I was twenty three and it's a small bass clef on my right ankle.
